Last week my sweet friend, Paige (see post below), hosted our families at her house for a little family fajita night. The kids enjoyed swimming (they braved the chilly water), the moms enjoyed chatting, and the dad's hung out around the fire pit. It was one of those nights that made me EXCITED for summertime. I cannot wait to push bedtime schedules aside (for the most part), spend our days in the sun with friends, and making memories. Summer, we are ready for YOU!
Earlier that day I joined Tristan's class on a field trip to the natatorium. They had a swimming safety class and then got to swim for a bit in the water. After they were done in the pool we had picnic lunches outside. T talked me into signing him out of school from the field trip so he got to come home a couple hours early. Those kind of treats mean the world to him, and me! Love that boy.
The kids got to wear their swimsuits to school that morning and he was happy about that!
Kennedy picked a broom out on her bday shopping trip and sweeps all the time. Ha! The girl LOVES to clean!!
I mentioned before that mornings are not her thing...well here is proof! ;) Usually Dwight takes Tristan to school so I don't have to wake her up in the mornings...that was not the case this particular morning. Ha! That hair though!!
Last week I told Dwight I was going to get a mani/pedi and that he would need to keep Ken. Without hesitation he told me, "No, we will just come with you. I want to get Kennedy's nails painted, too!" I couldn't say no to that!!
We ended up making an outing of it. Nails, lunch, and some spring shopping for the kids...they have literally outgrown ALL their clothes/shoes. It was a fun afternoon with two of my loves.
Ken sat on her daddy's lap while she got her nails painted...!
SO many choices, and this was only one of 4 panels to choose from. Anxiety. Ha! I told Dwight they could join me but he had to be in charge of Ken so I could still relax. He agreed. Ha! So I sipped on a drink and enjoyed some "me" time while those two had the cutest daddy/daughter date, ever!!
Friday we packed up and headed to Dallas for the weekend. Dwight's select basketball team was playing in a tournament. Since it is about an hour and 15 minute drive each way, we decided to just stay in a hotel to minimize driving and burning energy. Tournament weekends are busy enough and it just made since.
Our kids LOVE staying in hotels. I think all kids do! ;) Kennedy loved the buffet breakfast. Girl after my own heart. Ha!
I cannot tell you how proud I am of this man. He started his own business a year ago and it has EXPLODED!! It has been amazing to see God's favor over this process. Go Team Juice!
Sunday night I took T to bball practice and met my parents, sister and her husband for dinner on the patio of a yummy Mexican place in Grapevine. Ken clearly had the best time!
I'll end this random post with a precious picture of my babies. Tristan is such a loving and patient person. Kennedy is such a....two year old. Ha! That girl...she is blessed to have him as her brother!!
