Sisters

                     Side by side
                   Or miles apart
                   We are sisters
             Connected by the heart

And because a certain big brother didn't want to be left out....

Week of fun

Last week was deemed the "week of fun" by the kids and I! Each morning we would wake up and I would tell them the fun activity I had planned for them. Someone asked me "do you ever stay home?"...ha! I usually try and pick a day or two each week where we don't have anything on the schedule and can just take it easy/get stuff done around the house. However, I have learned that our days go much smoother when we get out! There might be 4 of them, but it is easier on this mama if we go on a few outings each week...plus if I wear them out, I can usually get a good 2 or 3 hour afternoon nap out of them! ;)

These pictures are out of order, but I'm too tired to fix it!

Tuesday: Play date at the splash park with my workout group. I packed us a picnic lunch and off we went. The kids played HARD and of course, Kennedy had no fear. I had to stop her from doing a few things out of her league. She is fierce!

I have an awesome group of mommy friends. We group text almost daily and make each other laugh so hard. Sometimes it's just a picture of something crazy our kids are doing, sometimes it's something funny our husbands said...sometimes it's that we really want chocolate and caffeine. Ha! Anyway, I sent them this picture of me watering the garden...I don't even remember what we were talking about, but it made me feel so domestic. I do NOT have a green thumb and I am trying everything possible to keep these poor plants alive. Pray for them. ;)

Monday (remember, out of order): A trip to the mall with aunt Natalie and Mimi for lunch, shopping, and some play time.

The look of sheer joy on Ken's face is because she is eating and nothing makes her happier than food...especially CFA!

I went on a bike ride all by myself one evening last week. It was peaceful and needed!

Wednesday: morning workout, Chuck E Cheese, and a quick trip to the mall to pick up a couple things. We were EXHAUSTED by the time we came home.

My little watermelon sweetie!

I couldn't believe that K was not afraid of Chuck! She danced and watched him intently.

Ken loves to wear her backpack and push her babies in their strollers. It is the cutest thing.

The boys joined in on some of my work out. They were so intense. Love their dedication!

Thursday: Tristan went and spent time with my sister who is in town from Colorado, Bri and Amari spent the day with Dwight and I took Kennedy to the Fort Worth Children's Museum. She LOVED it!!! Her favorite part was the grocery store. She shopped her heart out and I was in heaven watching her enjoy it all. It was the sweetest thing ever.

We met a group of our friends at the Museum and went to lunch at Joe T's afterwards. It was such a fun day! I went out with my workout group that evening for mom's night out, I fell into bed that night.

Oh how I love this girl!! She sure does melt my heart. In so.many.ways.

Ken is definitely my daughter. She inhaled the guacamole and rice at Joe T's. It was so delicious!

Friday:  I took the kids to the store to get ice cream, cookies, and a few treats so we could have game day. We played uno about 200 times, watched movies, and just enjoyed our time together. This little girl has been testing boundaries lately and getting into all the cabinets. I told D that we HAVE to baby proof this week. I can't keep up with her!

Well, there you have it; our week of fun! Thankful for these sweet days at home with my children. I cannot believe July is nearly over and school starts next month. Where does the time go?!?

The weekend

There is nothin' like taking a good morning walk!
Ken loves her stroller rides and we have been enjoying lots of them. Morning and evening are the only times we can do any outdoor activities.

This goofy girl got in my cabinets and wore the strainer on her head all afternoon. Ha!

Tristan lost ANOTHER two teeth. I have officially lost count.
The tooth fairy stood him up, twice! Oops!!

I rebraided/twisted Ken's hair. She is such a big girl while I do it. Elmo and ice cream also helps! ;)

Big girl brushing her teeth!

Bedtime stories with bubba. Kennedy goes around the house saying "bubba bubbbbbba!" She sure does love him!

My little nature boy rescuing me from a yucky frog in the garden!

A drawing I'll cherish forever.
My older sister Natalie drew this of me and the kids and I love it!

This picture was her inspiration.

A quick trip to Walmart. I despise that place, yet I find myself there multiple times a week. :) Thankfully they are building a Target RIGHT by our house!!

Daddy had tournaments all weekend. Ken and I went with him Saturday morning and then out to lunch after. I picked T up from my sister's after and came home. We had a special "mommy and me" night. We played Uno about 50 times, drank soda (caffeine free! :), watched Netflix in my bed, and stayed up way past bedtime. Love my alone time with these two! I also should add, I totally dominated in Uno. Ha!

My sweet babies!!

Ken and her daddy before church this morning. Oh their love is SO sweet!

I sent my mom this picture and she responded "blue-ti-ful!" :)

My sis is in from Colorado and stayed with us last night. The kids have loved extra time with her.

Church wears a girl out!

This afternoon we indulged in some Bahama Bucks. I'm officially addicted. My parents and two of my sisters joined us!

And just like that, the weekend is over. We have a jammed pack week ahead of us. I was looking at our family calendar for the next few weeks and realized that we have something every weekend through the whole month of August. School will start before we know it, and fall will be upon us!
