Christmas is my most favorite time of the year! For so many reasons. Of course the absolute main reason being the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I also love the extra family time, the joy on our children's faces, yummy food, festive décor, Christmas lights...it's just the best!
Yesterday, Dwight and I took the kids to the Gaylord Texan hotel to see Santa Claus. The older kids were beyond excited, Kennedy was less than thrilled. I had the bright idea of taking her to get a vaccination the morning of seeing Santa...not my best parenting move. Ha! Little miss was definitely not herself; very fussy, would only let me hold her, and she SCREAMED in poor Saint Nick's lap.
Even still, it was such a fun time! The kids are at the best age, and it is always a special thing to celebrate a baby's first Christmas. We are so very blessed!!
I have to mention, that like with most things in life, nothing is ever perfect (you would never know by pictures, right?!). Dwight and I had a huge blunder when I left the Santa pictures on the table of the restaurant we ate at, the wait staff threw them away on accident. I didn't realize this until we had gotten to the car and started to head home. My poor husband had to trek back across the parking lot, through the CROWDED hotel and hunt down management to ask if they had them, they did not. If you're from the area, you know how huge and busy the Gaylord is. D is such a good daddy/husband!He came back to the car to tell me the hotel offered to have us back the following today and retake the pictures for free. While it was a sweet gesture, it sounded AWFUL. Ha! Once was enough. I sent Dwight back in the hotel (poor man was gone another 30 minutes) to ask if they could just reprint the pictures that surely had to be saved on the computer...it's 2014 after all!! Thankfully they were there and after 45 extra minutes and a crying, tired, fussy baby, we were on our way home.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! ;)
