Hello, Spring!

It is my favorite time of the year, SPRING TIME!!!

The crisp mornings, sunny afternoons...and crazy thunderstorms that I could do without. Ha! But that is just apart of being a Texan that I have come to accept. ;)

I took little miss priss with me to finish up some of her birthday party shopping. I am just about done with all the prep work, I can't wait to celebrate her! Anytime we pass a food place she says, "eat, eat, eeeeeat!!" I had to stop and get the girl some "chick"!

Ken is obsessed and I mean OB-SESSED  with Barney, so she is having a purple and green themed party! Apparently NO one sales Barney decor...literally, no one. However, I have a super talented friend who designed Barney cupcake toppers and a few other cute accent pieces that have her bff, Barney on them! ;)

The Easter bunny visited Tristan and his friends at school last week. I love, love T's school and getting sweet pictures like this during the day.

I am ALL about bright, fun, spring colors! I was doing some birthday shopping for Kennedy and realized I might be obsessed with neon colors. Ha!

And bunny boy! T and I decorated eggs and made a yummy rice crispy cross last weekend. Oh how I love creating memories like these with him!

The weather has been a little crazy here lately. We had tornadoes, hail, and horrible thunderstorms last week. I had put the kids to bed, took a shower, and sat down to watch tv when the tornado sirens went off. I had to wake the kids up and get them out of bed so we could go in our "safe spot". Kennedy was less than thrilled. Ha!!

Dentist appointment for Tristan last week. No cavities! Woohoo!

My silly, sweet boy enjoyed some one-on-one time with his mama. I enjoyed it too!!

Dwight's basketball organization had an outing to The Dr. Pepper Center in Frisco to watch the NCAA Division 2 championship came. The boys had the best time!

I can't believe it is almost April and I am about to have a 2 year old (again). Oh, time...slow down!!!

28 Is going to be GREAT!

I turned 28 years old on Wednesday! 

I keep telling everyone that I have to soak up these last two years of my twenties. ;)

Dwight and the kids had the day off since it was spring break, so we spent the day together as a family. I woke up to a living room full of pink, purple, and white balloons (a birthday tradition we usually do for the kids), a bouquet of roses, and a cookie cake (my favorite!!). My sweet hubs also surprised me with a new camera!! I'm still learning how to use it. Ha! 

After a slow morning around the house, we headed to lunch. It's funny how birthdays change as you age. There is nothing I could have wanted more than a day with my family!

Later that night my parents had us over for a catered Mexican dinner from one of my favorite restaurants, more cake, and some birthday lovin'. When asked what I wanted for my birthday, I told my family I wanted new pots/pans, and flowers. My mom said she knew I was getting older when I requested pots and pans. Ha! I don't care though...the stainless steel of my new cooking ware makes me happy! And so do the texting reminders I get from my mom to water my plant. Thanks, mom!! :)

What a sweet birthday with family, oh how I am THANKFUL for them!!

Magnolia Market

One of my birthday wishes was to go to Magnolia Market. 

Brianna's basketball team had a tournament in Waco this weekend so it was the perfect opportunity to go! Tristan was with my parents for the day, and Bri was in between games and relaxing at the hotel with her team; so it was just me, Dwight, and the two youngest. :)

First off, I was amazed that we didn't have to wait in line to get in!! We literally walked right in. Yay! The hubs was such a good sport and walked every inch of the store with me (holding Ken because it is not stroller friendly). It was COLD outside...where did the 70 degree weather go to?!? But, that didn't stop the kids from playing by the silos and enjoying the outdoor festivities!

What a fun day!

Baylor University

Visiting Baylor University was a must on our Waco checklist!

It is really important to Dwight and I to expose the kids to universities at a young age to get them excited and aware of their future possibilities. I love seeing their joy and excitement as we discover new things!

Since Tristan was not with us the first day, we had to make a second trip the following day to go out there again so he could see the campus, too!

Even though Dwight and I went to Dallas Baptist University, we are all for exploring other schools!

Amari and Kennedy enjoyed their alone time with us. These two never spend time together without other siblings, so this was a treat for them. They have the sweetest bond.

Baylor has two real bears on campus; Lady and Joy. They were hibernating in their little cave, but we were still able to see them. So neat!!

That little window was to the cave they were asleep in. Amari loved "spying" on them. They are huge!

After touring the campus we grabbed a bite to eat and went to watch Bri's second game. They played HARD and won!! The competition was fierce so we were proud! Brianna is certainly feisty on the court. Ha! She may be girly, but girlfriend is competitive!!

Dwight is such a proud dad and all around amazing man. He leads the crowd in cheers for the girls (loudest voice ever), encourages Brianna and her teammates from the sidelines, and even holds/plays with Brianna's other little sister (from her mom); she LOVES Dwight.

Ken had a pom pom...need I say more? Ha!!

Way to go girls!!

The girls had more games today but were knocked out in round one of the final four. They were crushed, but it was a teachable moment. It is never easy to lose, but thankfully there is always another opportunity to do better. Because we did not get enough of Baylor yesterday, we went back for more. Ha!!

Dwight was not cooperating with pictures...such a goof!

I had to include this picture because of the story behind it. Dwight SWORE he saw a bob cat. I assured him it was just a cat, but he kept telling me that he knew by the look of it's face that it was a big cat. A few minutes later, the "bob cat" came out of the bushes and....Ha!! 

Somehow Dwight was able to talk his way into getting us a private tour of the Baylor sports museum (which was closed). I will say it was such a cool experience! They were preparing for an even that night for Nolan Ryan who was moving all of his collection to their museum. They had an entire new exhibit that NO ONE had seen yet. However, since we were there, they took us to see it! They kept telling us how we were the first ones from the public to see it. To say my husband was happy is such an understatement!!

look closely to the bottom left, you can see the boys in timeout. Ha! Yes, we are the parents who stop in the middle of a museum to put our children in timeout. Sorry, boys...even when we are having fun, rules still apply!

Needless to say, this was a day we will never forget. If the kids are not pumped for college now...I don't know what will do it for them. Haha! We ended our time in Waco with some delicious steak before hitting the road home. Spring break is officially over and I am counting down the days to summer!
