I have got to get better at documenting all the funny things Tristan says and does because I know I will forget them all, and I don't want to do that. T has definitely turned the corner from baby to toddler and is approaching turning the corner to being a preschooler (crazy!) He is very verbal in expressing what he wants. So here are some of the funny things he says and does that I can remember off the top of my head! :)
- Tristan's current favorite word is "anymore" pronounced "N-E mo". When he feels strongly about something he will say "I don't want to (fill in the blank) N-E mo." It's funny the things he rejects...riding in my car, watching certain shows, going to different places. He is a mess and so passionate about what he wants and doesn't want.
- At dinner the other night we were eating pizza and my plate was empty. He asked me "Mommy, you want more pizza?" I said that I would go get some in a minute and then he asked me "you want my pizza, mommy?" While holding a piece off his plate. He loves taking care of his momma! :)
- Just about every morning when he gets up Tristan tells me, "Mommy, I go see Shripp (Tripp) and Shuck E Sheese." I usually divert the topic with something about Thomas or Mickey but it never fails, he brings it up again the next day!
- I was picking up the living room and Tristan coughed really hard. I must have been side-tracked because I didn't say anything to him so he told himself "bless you, Tristan." Ha! I started laughing so then he faked burped and said "exxxcuuuuse me." Such a boy!!
- If you call T a baby he says "I not a baby...I a big boy!"
- Tristan calls his little hiney his "butty" I'm not sure how in the world that came along because that is not what I told him to call it. But it has stuck. The other day a song came on the Disney channel and he said "mommy, I shake my butty!!" Oh goodness...
- If I spank Tristan, which isn't often, but it happens and he will so seriously look at me and say "No, no mommy! Don't spank me, it's not nice." It takes everything in me not to laugh. If he is really trying to pull at my heart strings he will say "mommy, you made me sad." Ahh that one gets to me!
- I love when I do something and it cracks him up. He will say "you funny mommy."
- My sister had on my boots one day and Tristan said "heyyyy those are my mommy's boots! Take them off." Talk about fashion police. :)
- If Tristan has ever seen your car he will remember it and anytime he sees the same model of it on the road he will think its you. It blows my mind how a 2 year knows that. He saw a Range Rover on the road the other day and said "Tripp's car, mommy!!" It was the same model but no the exact color of it which tells me he isn't going by color to distinguish the cars. He knows the body of them. He does the same thing with other people if he sees a Trail Blazer he says "Faithy". An Escape "Jill" and a Durango "Mimi". When we are riding in my car and a black altima drives by he will say "that's not your car mommy" because we are in my car. Such a smarty pants!
- When I pick him up from school I'll ask him what he did that day and he will reply "I pay width (neither misspellings on my part :) Gabby, Ms. Devin, Ms.Yessica, and Ms. Yisa." (Jessica and Lisa) He loves school!
- Anytime you ask Tristan a question like what color is this? What is his/her name he says "ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" and then will answer. He cracks me up.
- After school the other day we pulled in the driveway and Tristan said "I drive Mommy, okay?" He loves sitting in my lap when we are parked and pretending to drive.
- No matter what the request is, if its something he knows he should or shouldn't do or have he will say "Okay?" at the end like if he says that then our answer will always be yes. It goes something like this, "I eat a cookie, okay?"
- We will fake cry when Tristan refuses to give a kiss or hug (he does that quite often) and he will say, "don't cry mommy/Mimi/ashy etc" and give us a kiss. Works like a charm!
- My mom told him that my grandparents were coming over and he LOVES them. But, he replied "No, I want Ashy (my sister) to pay width me." You know that made her happy.
- Tristan knows directions to places and it is weird, super crazy smart and a little creepy for a someone so young. When I get to the 4 way stop leading to his school he will tell me to "go that way" and point straight then when we approach the school he will say "turn here" and point right to the road that leads to it. His bff Tripp lives in a subdivision off a major road that we pass often in Keller but I barely remember it let alone expect my 2 year old to. When we pass it if we don't turn right onto the road that leads to his subdivision to go to his house T melts down in sadness! And will say, "noo go that way, go to Shripp's house!!" I also took him by a house of his friends about a month ago, only they had moved out 7 months before and we hadn't been there since Tristan was about 18 months old. I pulled in front of it and asked him whose house it was and he said "That's Faithy's house!" How in the world can he remember that??
- When Tristan sneezes or has a yucky nose he will say "I need a tissue, my nose is runny."
I know there are so many more sweet/funny/smart things he says but that's a pretty good depiction of how well he is speaking and communicating with us these days! I say this every stage, but this one really is my favorite!!
