Tristan's 7 month check up!

I have a growin' boy on my hands! Today we went for Tristan's well baby check up (we're a couple weeks behind; it's suppose to be a 6 month check up...long story! ha) and everything looked great! He is in the 95th percentile for his height which is not shocking to me at all. He is 29 inches long, 2 and a 1/2 feet...at 7 months!! He is going to be TALL, dark and handsome :) He weighs 18 1/2 pounds which is only the 50th percentile, apparently he got my "skinny genes" ...sorry bubba! He had to get 3 shots, the nurse gave him the first one and he didn't cry at all, he just stared at her! But then the 2nd and 3rd one upset him, still he did so well. Some times I honeslty think I have the best tempered baby and I am so grateful for that!

This past week Tristan has started taking 2 naps a day; a morning one for 2 hours and an afternoon one for 1 1/2 hours...unfortunately he is still waking up about twice a night to eat, we are working on that! He loves to snack on teething cookies/biscuits, graham crackers, cheerios and of course his baby food 3 times a day! T is also jabbering a ton now and loves to get everyone's attention by doing so. We went to a friend's house today and TK LOVED their puppy, he laughed so hard when she would run and fetch her toys, it was the sweetest thing ever! As of today I am DONE with all my assignments and class. All that is left is taking my finals and then hello SUMMER...school haha I get a 1 week break then to summer school it is! I am SO close to graduation I can taste it! Tomorrow I am taking it easy, RELAXING and enjoying the entire day with my baby. Then studying for the next week...yuck! Sunday I am dedicating Tristan at church so I'll have pictures of that up sometime next week along with the professional ones that should be in any day now! :)

His chubby legs have bandaids on them from the shots.

IS IT SUMMER YET???

The end of EVERY college semester is crazy; throw in a 7 month old baby and a mother who has been undergoing pre-treatment for a bone marrow transplant and that makes things even more crazy. Honestly, I wouldn't say crazy..rather very busy. It is so amazing to see God work and perfectly piece things together, especially during difficult times.
School is going great, I think I will be making the Dean's list for the first time;having a baby makes you buckle down, be on a schedule and do homework early...what a concept! Anyway, I attribute all my A's in school to baby T. :) Speaking of Tristan Kye, he continues to be a delight every single day. My sister, Ashley informed me tonight that she forgot to tell me that he waved bye for the FIRST time while she was watching him last Saturday while I was at a wedding!! I couldn't believe he did it, and I missed it. I am with that little boy 24-7 and the ONE day I am apart from him for a few hours he goes and does something for the first time...ugh! Oh well, I am glad she got to see it and I'll catch the next hand wave! I had his pictures made Friday. They were suppose to be his 6 month pics but with everything going on I couldn't get him in until he was 7 months. They turned out GREAT!! I loved all of them and bought almost every pose. I'll put them up here next week when they come in.
My mom, for those of you who know her is a STRONG STRONG woman! She is who got me through my very emotional pregnancy and who has shown me what it is to be a mother. I look at her faith in God and what she is going through and with such grace and I am amazed by it. I know I complain about only getting 5 hours of sleep at night, having 3 papers in one week but in the grand scheme of things its NOTHING compared to the battle she has been going through for the past 6 years. I am so proud of her and I know that through this bone marrow transplant God is going to RESTORE her body and give it 100% HEALING. He will use her TESTimony to be glory to His name. I love you momma!

He highly dislikes putting on shirts now, so around the house we don't...and sometimes out in public. haha JK but Friday after his pictures were made, the last shot was of him in his white pants and no shirt...he faught and faught me trying to put a shirt on him and he won. We walked out of the photo studio with Tristan in only pants...oh goodness!

Again, no shirt!

Tristan and I at my grandparent's house for our weekly visit, they love him so much.

He LOVES to play in his crib!

Sweet baby boy.

It's fun to be young!

It was a FUN weekend filled with family and friends! On Saturday Tristan, myself and my sister Ashley went to a baby shower of a lonng time family friend Melissa. I have known her since I was in kindergarten...I unfortunately got zero pictures of all of us together but as soon as she has her baby girl I will take many of yet another new little friend of Tristan!

Later that night I went to a wedding of another friend who I have grown up with. It was BEAUTIFUL! My best girlfriends came into town from college for it and we had so so much fun!! Thanks to Ashley for babysitting little man. :) He loves to spend quality time with his aunty and I know she loves it too! It's crazy how everyone is growing up, getting married and having babies, God is good!

7 Months!

I can't believe it...Tristan Kye turned 7 months old on Saturday. I don't know how that is even possible, but it happened! If the first 7 months flew by then I can only imagine the next 7. I wake up everyday to the happiest, sweetest little boy who has the biggest grin on his face and I know that I am the luckiest girl in the world! I wouldn't trade being his mother for the ANYTHING. God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave me my son. Tristan has made me a better person in every way possible. He stole my heart the first time I heard his beat. I can't wait to continue to watch him grow into the amazing person I know God has desinged him to be.

My mom bought Tristan a Christian lullaby CD for his 7 month birthday and I LOVE one of the songs on it. It's called "Hold On To Jesus" and the lyrics read:

You're a little piece of heaven/You're a golden ray of light/And I wish I could protect you/From the worries of this life/ But if there's one thing I could tell you/It's no matter what you do/ Hold to Jesus/ He's holding on to you

The world will try to tell you/ That might is more than right/ That beauty's on the outside/ And being good's a losing fight/ But remember what Ive told you/ Because the world will make you choose/ Hold to Jesus/ He's holding on to you//

Hold on to Jesus/ Cling to His love/ Rest deep in His mercy/ Whenever things get rough/ Don't lose sight of His goodness/ And don't ever doubt this truth/ that when you hold on to Jesus/He's holding on to you

Hear
me dear Jesus/ Rock this little one to sleep/ Keep him close when he's scared/ And give him grace when he is weak/ I know he'll stumble/ But I know he'll make it through/ If You hold to Him just like You said You'd do/ Hold him, Jesus/ So hell hold on tight to You

I'll play that song every day for Tristan and make sure he knows that mommy is not perfect and I may not always know exactly what to do but his Jesus loves him and will always be right by his side to get him through.

I highly recommend this cd it's called " Sing Over Me, worship songs and lullabies" I think it is so important to sing and speak God's truth over our children, espcially in the days we are living in.

Happy 7 months bubba, everything I do...I do for you.

Happy Easter!

We had such a great Easter. After an amazing church service, celebrating the resurrection of our precious Lord and Savior, we came home ate a delicious lunch and enjoyed the day with family and a few close friends. Here are some pictures from our day!

My mom's beautiful garden, she puts this cross up every year and I love it.

The Easter bunny was very good to Tristan! :)

Easter Eve!

Well Tristan's Easter basket is stuffed and on the fireplace ready to be opened by my little man in the morning! I LOVE the stage that he is in. He is such a sweet boy and loves to cuddle, he is for sure attached to his momma. If I leave the room or his sight, the tears begin to flow. TK loves his Mimi but for the FIRST time he cried when I handed him to her today, he wanted me to hold him, he has never done that before. We have had a somewhat busy week. Tristan was sick all last weekend, I took him to the dr who told me that he wasn't contagious...HA! Not only did he get Faith, Brooke and Lesley sick (the family I babysit for) he got me and my mom very sick. So the past 4 days have been pretty rough to say the least but today for the first time I feel much better. Thank goodness, I have to be healthy and happy for my baby's 1st Easter! last night we went to see my old college roomate and had a great time with her, then today Jill came over to visit. After catching up for a couple of hours, her, myself, Tristan and my little sister, Melody went to the Grapevine Mills mall where I found AMAZING sales at the baby Carter store. Everything was 50 to 70% off...it doesn't get much better than that!! So of course I got Tristan some MORE clothes, this child's wardrobe far out does mine. :) Then we went to Rosa's Cafe where Tristan decided to stick his hand in my nachos, he is a busy little boy! I am so proud he has begun to eat cheerios, gram crackers, mashed up blueberries, drink out of a sippy cup and SIT UP!!! I cannot believe that next Sunday he will be 7 months old, how is that even possible?? I am loving every minute of being a mommy and no matter how tired, stressed or overwhelmed I feel at times, it is worth EVERY bit of it just to have the most amazing son in the world! I can't wait to see him dressed up in his sweater vest, tie and hat tomorrow. I will post pics of that later this week. Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and remembers that aside from all the fun hunging eggs, eating good food and dressing up cute; the real reason for the holiday is the resurrection of our precious Lord and King.

Not so happy Easter bunny!

If only he loved bottles like he loves his sippy cup!

Easter Bunny!

I took Tristan to get his picture made with the Easter bunny on Friday! We met Lesley and Faith up there and it turned out so cute as you can see. :) Afterwards Tristan and I shopped for a while. I found the CUTEST white, long-sleeved collared vintage shirt with blue swirls on the front of it for him at Baby Gap, on sale for FOUR dollars, it was orginally $30.00, I was very excited! We then went to my grandparents house and visited them for a while, they have to get their weekly dose of TK! Our night was not so fun! Tristan has had a bad cough the past 2 days and had a 102 fever Monday night which I thought was from teething; but after being up ALL night with my poor baby coughing so hard that he would gag and then cry I realized it was something more. So I gave him some warm water wtih squeezed lemon in it to break up the congestion in his chest and took him to the Dr's first thing this morning, thankfully they are open on Saturdays! Turns out he has a slight ear infection because of the congestion breaking up and all the fluid. We got a prescription and we are going to just relax today!

My mohawk man!
