Family fun day

Last Saturday, we had a FULL day of family fun!
Our day started off bright and early at Brianna's softball game. She did great!

Afterwards, we headed straight to Amari's birthday party to celebrate him (which I got no pictures of).

Straight from Amari's party we went to Grapevine to watch daddy coach two games before heading to dinner at Coal Vines in Southlake for delicious pizza and wine (for me and Dwight only ;)

From dinner we went to get frozen yogurt and shopping. The kids enjoyed picking out a new toy each at Toys R Us. They kept saying "this is the BEST day ever!!" Dwight and I agreed that we needed a day like this, and so did the kids. Of course we all went home and passed out...!

What a week!

I have been waiting for this week to come...my LAST week at work.
Here I am, one day left, and boy has it been a week!

I dropped my phone while putting Kennedy in the car and shattered the screen. This morning I accidentally locked the keys in the car, which was running, and had to call a locksmith to come to  my rescue. I then arrived to work 2 hours late. I've had to laugh at myself, several times, and look at the BIG picture.

On a sweeter note, I've spent lots of time with these little people this week.
Kennedy LOVES her big brothers. She thinks they are so.very.funny. Her favorite thing is when they come play in her room each evening after baths.

Mimi came over to bring the boys a treat, and scored some sweet Kennedy kisses.
She is such a love bug!

This week has been drug-free week at school. Today was "I mustache" you not to do drugs". Mimi came over early to paint Tristan a mustache and take him for donuts before school.

I was given sweet gifts from the students and teachers at one of my schools, yesterday.
They handmade cards, got me a 12-pack of dr. pepper (they know me too well!), and nothing bundt cakes. So sweet! I really will miss my sweet "babies".

Happy Ken Ken.
She is so funny and jolly...but somehow always gets a serious look for the camera.
This girl makes me laugh and smile so BIG!

And last, but not least, Amari turned 6 on Monday!!
Dwight and I took the kids to Main Event for bowling, laser tag, and dinner. They had a blast.

Tomorrow is my  last day at work. I will be in the office all day updating files, turning in my lap top and work badge, and saying my goodbyes. This job has been like nothing else I've experienced. It has challenged, strengthened, and exhausted me at times. I am so thankful and excited to rest and enjoy this upcoming season in my life. Life is sweet!

Kennedy Brooke ~ 6 month photography session

This little ray of sunshine is pure joy.
I mean really, I can't get enough of her love.
Kennedy's constant smile, laughing, kisses (my favorite, she pulls my mouth to hers), cuddling, chattering, and joyful spirit, are just the best!

6 month check up

6 months and two weeks, this girl is. Every day she comes to life more and more. Nevermind the serious faces the camera seems to always capture, she is one happy baby girl. The words I constantly use to describe her; joyful, jolly, spirited, and happy. She is all those things and more!

Despite being in my final week and a half of work, I took the day off today. I had booked Ken's 6 month check up months ago and couldn't reschedule, her doctor is a very popular guy, apparently. Ha!

But who am I kidding, an extra day with this babe...yes, please! Our morning started off with getting Kennedy's 6 month photos taken. She did so good, even though I had to wake her up from a deep sleep. I mean really, super baby!

After her pictures we had a quick Starbucks date with Mimi, and then headed on to the pediatrician. Ken is a growing girl! She weighs 18lbs and is 27in long. Little miss got one shot, DTAP. It was her second vaccine, as I do a delayed schedule and like to take it slow. She cried a little but then was fine!

Thankful for a healthy and happy girl!

Counting down

Twelve days.
12 days including today, next weekend, and one day off in between, until I am home for good with my babies!! Tristan and I keep a count down on a dry erase magnetic board hanging on our fridge. Each morning Tristan runs to lower the number. The other morning I caught him drawing hearts all over the board, he is so excited. I am too!

The planning has already begun for the fun that will ensue come Oct 31st (my last day). Playdates, holiday activities, volunteering at Tristan's school, field trips, overdue catching up with friends, home projects, and more await me.

This weekend has been very chill. Nothing that we HAD to do. There was a lot of cleaning, playing, and relaxing in our home. Much needed!

The kids after church this morning.
Ken was ready to eat and take a nap...not take pictures!

Lil miss played her heart out in the nursery. She fell asleep in the car before we left the parking lot.

Ken has been quite attached to me lately. She is a daddy's girl to the max, usually, but she has been sharing the love. I love it. Dwight had to bring her into the bathroom while I got ready for church this morning. She just wanted to sit and watch me straighten my hair.

Best buds! T held Kennedy while I vacuumed yesterday. He is the sweetest to her.

She loves messing with her big brother, and he takes it like a champ!

Evidence of her attachment to me. I had to put her in the moby wrap so I could finish cleaning. She loved it, my back did not. ;)

Pretty weather means lots of playing outside!
(ignore our messy garage...cleaning it out is on the to do list)

Kennedy has SO much hair. It has all fallen off along the bottom of her head, just like Tristan's did, but it is thick and long up top. I washed and conditioned her hair then combed out all the curls. It took me about 20 minutes and she just sat and waited like such a big girl. I went to the beauty supply store last night and got her special all natural product to put on her curls. I can barely take the sweetness of these pigtails. Heart explosion.

Happy girl!!

So close and SO ready to be home with this dolly baby. Oct 31st cannot come soon enough!!
