This & That!

Why am I still awake??!! I've only slept 2 hours in the last 25 hours. I HAVE got to stop doing that! But before I go to bed I had to upload a few cute photos of today! :)

We had Tristan's 2 year pics today and had so much fun taking them. If you're looking for a great photographer I highly recommend Itsy Bitsy Photography by Brooke Clarke. I follow her blog which can be found to the right of this post on the side bar. She was SO good with Tristan, and us. :) I don't have the edited photos yet, obviously, but here a few I snapped during our session. I can't wait to see the finished products, I know she got a ton of good ones!!

Doesn't he look about 4 here?!! :)

If only I could get him to look at the camera...

We were suppose to go to a Halloween party after our pictures but by the time we were done we were SO hungry (and tired) so we ate at Babe's in Cedar hill since we were right by it for the session. Tristan LOVED the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and biscuits. He is truly a southern boy! He tried to steal my dr. pepper but I stood strong and he kept drinking his water. He knows what coke is and will look at me and say "No coke, mommy?" and I reply "That's right bubba, no coke." Ha!

I'm not sure what that boo boo lip is for but he got VERY excited when the food came out. Ha!

I leave you with pictures of the birthday cake my mom made for Grace's 2nd birthday. She is one of Tristan's best friends who we love very much. Apparently she has become obsessed with trains too, maybe Tman rubbed off on her! Her mom thought she would love a pink train cake, so that is exactly what she got. It turned out amazing!! Mom is starting her own little business "Mimi's Cakes". In honor of what Tristan calls her. If anyone is in need of a cake, let me know!

Fall Festivities!

Well, Tristan's thriving social life hasn't slowed down yet! :) We have had a handful of fun, fall festivities to attend this week and we're still not done. Tuesday night our church, Gateway had a fall festival at the Dragon stadium in Southlake. Mom, Tony, and I ventured out to fight the crowds to take little man...anything for Tristan! Ha.

We ended up meeting Trish and her boys and had a great time! There were A LOT of people but we still enjoyed ourselves. Tristan was TERRIFIED of the petting zoo, he just is not an animal person...except for our cat, Cowboy. He loved, loved, LOVED riding the train, of course!! He also had a good time on the carriage ride he and Grayson took with my parents. There was lots of food, and candy that we just so happened to skip (I have to take advantage of his obliviousness while I can!) I thought he would love seeing the firetruck because he is obsessed with all things trucks. He'll say "mommy BIG truck" while we drive or point out school buses, tractors etc. Well the Southlake FDP was there and we went to see the trucks but he was holding on to us for dear life he kept saying "too big, mommy...too big." Ha!

I had a really hard time sleeping during the day before the festival so you can imagine how exhausted I was after it. So, I read Tristan his book and laid down with him... and fell asleep, until I had to head off to work @ 10:30pm. I am so thankful for such a sweet, healthy, thriving, funny, loving boy. He keeps me on my toes but I wouldn't trade those slobbery, wet kisses, hugs, tickles, or him hugging my legs for anything!

Today, Tristan had a Halloween party at school. Since it landed on a Friday and he only goes Tues-Thurs, his fabulous, wonderful teacher, Ms. Devin let me bring Tristan up there to join them. Which means I got off from work at 7am came home, stayed up to go the party. Again, anything for Tristan! :) Check out this cute conductor, I mean seriously...!!!

If this little face isn't to die for, I don't know what is!

Tristan's new thing is wanting to press his cheek up against whoever is taking the pic. I think he is finally catching on. :)

Ready to go to the preschool party (bless that teacher's heart, she is brave!)

Tristan's class! Summer, Colton, Gabby, Travis, Elaine and Nikko. There were 3 absent. Again, bless that teachers heart!! They really were all so good, I must say.

I love how his classroom is full of color, pictures that the teachers take of all the kids and seasonal things. I got pictures of a few of the super cute displays. I missed the birthday wall which is adorable. Each child has a picture wearing a big birthday hat by the month they are born in! Another display I didn't get was a growth chart and each child has their name by their height. Can you guess who is the tallest?!! Yep, Tristan. AND he is the youngest! Oh my little giant. :)

Each of these pumpkins has the kids name on it. Too cute.

This is the art wall where whatever thing they do that day is hung by there picture. It's hard to see but little man's is in the left corner.

Here is a shot of one of the sides of the class room. It was almost naptime so the nap mats were out. After eating all the cookies and sweets they ate I'm not so sure how much napping will be taking place!

After watching Tristan in class I realized we might be babying him a little at home. Ha! Each child throws their plate away (which he does put his stuff in our sink when he is done eating, yes...he can reach!). Then they climb up on the stool, turn the faucet on themselves, get soap and wash their hands! I was impressed and you can see from the pic below T was very happy to show me what he can do! :) They all also drink out of regular cups, no sippy cups and not one single spill. Impressive!!

Tristan and Ms. Devin his FAVORITE teacher. She is such a sweet heart and genuinely loves those kids. What a blessing she is! I am beyond grateful for such a wonderful preschool. Tristan has benefited tremendously from going there and as much as I miss the days he was with me 24-7 I know this is healthy and good for him. He is learning social interaction, trust that when I leave, I will come back...this is probably the biggest thing. I love that I can drop him off at school or the church nursery and he just walks right in! He knows his ABC's, colors, can count to 10 and has a pretty impressive vocabulary. Thank the Lord for Children's Courtyard! :)

Well, here he is...THE Thomas the train!!!!

As we left I tried SO hard to get a pic of T man in front of this adorable display in the lobby, you can see how well it went. Ha!

Running home to take a nap!

Well 2 events down, 2 to go! Saturday after our family pics in Cedar Hill we're heading back to Keller to attend a Halloween dress up party with a bunch of Tristan's friends and their parents, then of course the REAL deal on Sunday! I can't wait to see how excited T man gets, he really understands what's going on these days and I love watching him get excited. He loves all the "punkins" his Mimi has decorated the house with! I have officially been up for 24 hours so I am off to bed before work tonight, then it's the weekend for me. Whoo hoo!!!!

TGIF!!!

Mondays with Mommy!

I know I say it every week but, I love Mondays! It's my one week day that I am awake, and mine and Tristan's date day! :) I asked Grace's mom if she could come play with Tristan and I  today because we missed her SO very much and she was able to!
Before Grace came over Tristan and I played in his room for a bit. He is doing the funniest things lately. Last night he came up to me and said "mommy I'm going to tickle you. Goochie, goochie, goo!" He makes me smile. :)

I live for this smile!!

After Laurie dropped Grace over we picked up some lunch and were off to the park to meet our other friends Trish, Grayson and LD. The weather was perfect and so were the kiddos. I am really loving this age and the fact that they are independent, able to play together and have their little personalities shine!
We went to our favorite park in Keller. Tristan got to eat McDonald's for the FIRST time, ever. We made it two years and we'll be going a while before he gets anymore... he did enjoy it but I must admit, I felt a tad bit guilty giving it to him!!

They love each other so much!

I think this picture is blow up/canvas worthy!

Grayson, Tristan and Grace holding hands as we were leaving the park. :)

Giving Gracie girl hugs goodbye!

I took Gracie home at 2pm and put the Mr. down for a nap and he is out cold, still! I'm off to watch Dr. Phil (I can't help it...it's the psychology major in me, although I don't agree with everything he says!!) Happy Monday!
