This is spring

Playing at the park, sipping on sonic slushies, having fun, and plenty of sunshine....THIS is spring!

I picked the boys up from school and we went straight to sonic and then the park. They were SO excited! The weather was gorgeous and I couldn't pass up an afternoon outside with the kiddos.

I love these moments with them!

Hoop Kings

The boys had their very first basketball game last week!
They were SO excited. Tristan wanted to know if there would be tv cameras there...I had to explain that their games were not going to be televised. Ha!

Tristan and Amari both played so well! Their team won, 40 to 0!!
The therapist in me felt awful for the other little team though...I secretly was hoping they would score at least ONE basket. I mean, I know everything in life is not always "fair" but that's a tough concept when you are 6 years old! Even still, I was very proud of our little ball players. We reminded them how wonderful it is to be a humble winner and always give God the glory for our talents!

Kennedy, the cheerleader! :)

Daddy did a good job being a fan instead of a coach. He did give direction from the stands a few times...I leaned over and reminded him "babe, let the coach coach." Ha! ;)

Warming up!

So proud of these boys!! They are beyond thrilled to be playing for a team.

Poppy and Mimi came to watch, too!

One proud daddy! Things have come full circle and boy is it sweet.

After the game Dwight had to go and coach his team in a tournament held in Dallas. Amari went home with his mom, and I took T on a "day of fun". First we had pizza at his favorite place, Red Brick Pizza Oven, with Mimi and Poppy. After that...ice cream, jumping at an indoor trampoline park, then cookies and movie night! T was so excited because he got to sleep in bed with me since daddy had to stay in Dallas over night. We watched Thomas on Netflix...until mommy passed out! Love my time with that sweet boy of mine.

Kennedy clearly had a fun day too! She took a THREE hour nap when we got home. Girlfriend loves to sleep. Thank you, Jesus!!

These are the days

The kids are at such a fun stage in development. The boys are old enough to know what they want, care for themselves (in some ways), play together, and help with their little sister. I love watching all of them bond!

Texas welcomed a week of storms, hello spring! So, I knew I had to find creative ways to let the boys run off some energy after being at school all day. One day last week, I picked them up and we went straight to our church's indoor play area. They were happy and so was Kennedy. She likes to play, too!

Tristan and Amari had basketball practice Monday evening. They love being on a team! I love seeing them in their element and so happy to play. On our way home from practice, I looked in the back seat at a red light and saw Amari holding Kennedy's hand. He did this the whole way home. Those boys love that girl!

Ken and I have been meeting with a group of moms every Monday and Wednesday morning for work out sessions. Don't let the strollers fool you, it's an intense, tough WORKOUT!! But I love it and I need it. I have so enjoyed getting back into good physical shape and Kennedy loves our play time afterwards. :)

I walked out of my room the other day to find this sweet card written by my hubby to me. It had a sweet message inside and a little gift for me to pamper myself. It wasn't our anniversary or my birthday, just a card to say he loves and appreciates me. Those are the best kind!

My grocery shopping buddy! I never make it through the store without opening something for her to eat. I am that mom! ;)

They may not always be easy...or glamorous, but these are the days!!

Day out with Thomas

All aboard! Thomas came to Grapevine, Texas and we hopped on board to ride the train and enjoy a day of fun.

My parents and I took Tristan and Kennedy to ride (Dwight had to coach a tournament) and had the BEST time. I'm not sure who loved it more, T or Ken! It was precious to watch them dance, sing, and take everything in. I love making memories with them!!

Last year I bought tickets to take Tristan to ride Thomas but the day we were suppose to go, I went into labor with Kennedy, so my parents took him. What a difference a year makes!

We road the train, made crafts, looked at train exhibits, ate delicious (unhealthy)food...hello nachos and funnel cakes!! So much fun!

Some bunny is ONE!

Our little baby bunny turned ONE!
What a special day it was.
Birthdays have always been a big deal in our family, started by my mother when we were children, and now carried on with my own children. I wanted to do something simple and sweet to celebrate our precious girl. Since Kennedy's actual birthday landed on Easter Sunday, I decided to throw a "some bunny is turning one" party the weekend before. It was a super fun theme with plenty of options given the holiday it was associated with. I had to finally cut myself off from shopping. Bunny decor was everywhere!! ;)

I invited some of our closest friends and family over to our house and we had a blast!
It was a beautiful day outside. The kids enjoyed bubbles, sidewalk chalk, making their own bunny masks, basketball, hula hoops, soccer, and their favorite, an Easter egg hunt!

The menu included "bunny food" : hard boiled eggs, veggies and fruits, sausage balls, "carrot" goody bags aka cheetos, nuts, "bunny tails" aka marshmallows, pretzels dipped in icing, peep kabobs, homemade bunny sugar cookies made by Mimi, cupcakes, smash cake, and birthday cake made by one of my childhood friend's grandmother.

Ken Ken is loved by so many people and we are forever grateful for their involvement in her life. Dwight and I are over the moon about this little girl of ours, if you can't tell. ;) She brings us so much JOY! As her daddy wrote in her birthday card "I rush home every day to see you crawl as fast as you can to me and hear you say 'dada'." I have my very own little bff, baby doll to dress up, and reflection of me. I still can't believe that I have a daughter of my own. She is one of my biggest blessings! We love you, Ken!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the day. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Party, Kennedy! I know you won't remember this day, but I pray you look back at these pictures and see how loved you are!
