What a BUSY weekend we had. Seriously, fun but BUSY!
The kids wrapped up VBS, we had a couple of birthday dinners to attend, Dwight coached some games, I did some shopping, and the kids attended football/cheer leading camp. This momma is TIRED! =)
I have so much fun dressing Brianna up! I love putting super big bows (this one may be off the charts) in her hair. She likes when I straighten her hair and make it long. Sweet girl before my sister in law's bday dinner.
For the longest time the number one question/statement we would get is if Tristan and Amari were twins. The new question/statement is how much Brianna and I look alike. If I had a dime for every time someone said "your daughter looks JUST like you!!" or "I know which one is yours (as they point to Bri)", I would be a millionaire! I can't deny that we look alike...I take it as a sweet little gift from God.
D and I took the kids to see Monster's University and they loved it!
So cute, but the sequels never beat the first movie (in my book). The movie was an 8pm showing and we stopped at On the Border after for a quick bite (the worst idea I have ever had). The poor kids were exhausted with a capital "E". Brianna and Tristan were literally in tears because they wanted to sleep. I ended up taking them out to the car and letting Dwight pack up my food to take home and eat later. The life of a parent! ;)
I took Brianna to get her hair trimmed earlier that day and she tried to convince me to get it cut to her chin (ummm no!!). I took this pic to send to her mom.
Saturday, Bri had cheerleading camp. She was so cute learning new cheers for football season!
The boys somehow ended up in football camp which was held the same time as Bri's camp. We totally were NOT planning on them doing this, hence their regular clothes/shoes. It's safe to say that we weren't exactly prepared...but they had fun!
Running drills! D walked around each station video taping, taking pictures, and coaching them. I sat on the sidelines with Brianna's mom, we could not stop laughing at how precious the boys were...lets just say we are a basketball family!
You would think Dwight would be a "hardcore" sports parent since he is an athlete and coaches himself, but he so isn't. One of the things I love most is how level headed Dwight is. I've been pushing and asking for them to start a sport soon, but he is very big on not starting them too young as to prevent injuries to their growing bodies, and bad habits that can be picked up when being coached by people who may not have the proper skill level. After Saturday, I can say I whole heatedly agree. As much fun as it was for the kids, it was a bit too much for how old they are and where they are developmentally. Daddy ended up pulling them out in the middle of this tire flipping drill because they weren't lifting with their legs, rather their back...not good! So for now they will continue "training" with Dwight, playing with each other and just enjoy being 4 years old. Maybe in a couple more years we will approach little league sports. =)
After camp we grabbed lunch at Red Robin and Dwight treated the kids to a shake. I told him we are going to have to go on a major summer detox (after the 4th). No.more.sugar!!
Okay, my bed is calling my name!! Another fun-filled, busy week is awaiting us. I am excited to celebrate America's birthday and all the activities we have planned for it.
