Mondays with Mommy!

This weather is absolutely gorgeous!! I think I could stay outside ALL day. I don't want it to get any warmer, or colder...just stay like this. I can dream, right?! :)  Unlike most working people, I love Mondays! Since I don't go in until 11pm, it's like I have a 3 day weekend.

After my doctor's appointment today I came home and picked up little man. We grabbed some KFC for us, Mimi and Poppy and brought it back for a picnic in the living room. Ha! Tristan LOVED it. It was his first time eating there and he kept asking for the crunchy part. He tried to swipe my dr. pepper but I stood my ground! He can usually sneak a sip or two, but not today. :)

After lunch Mimi and I took T-man on a walk. He did not make a peep the whole time. I looked down at him several times and he was wide awake. Well after going around the block we got back to our house and he was out cold! We decided to take one more lap to make sure he wouldn't wake up, and he didn't. I carried him right into bed and he never even knew we were home! Oh I just love that little boy, he is absolutely a joy to be around and makes it so much fun to be a mommy!

T before lunch. Notice the baby bop he is holding? She use to be aunt Mel's 17 years ago when she was a little girl. Tristan hasn't let her leave his side. I'm going to have to find him a Barney!

:)

Mimi pushing the stroller. I think his time is limited in that thing... :(

My sleepy boy!

Mimi's birthday present to Tristan is re-doing his room. She has already drawn her sketch (she is hardcore) and is starting to paint this week! It is going to be ADORABLE. I can't wait to see the finished product. She is doing a whole nature mural on the main wall with a train going across. T will LOVE it. I am also ordering him a real big boy bed. My little guy sure is growing up fast....I wish he would slow down! I am also so proud to report that life with out the pacy has been perfect. Even after throwing 20 of them away, I have found 2 in my moms car and 1 in our bedroom. I know there are more that will  probably creep up! Tristan never ask for them through out the day and when he wakes up in the morning he puts his woobie and his pacy in the bed and says "bye pacy!"

Well I better get some things done for my graduate school applications while Tristan takes his nap. Happy Monday! :)

Weekend Wrap Up!

What a fun weekend we had!

Friday night I didn't have to work because we had training at work on Saturday over family violence, all day. Very informative, but very long!  So, after I woke up Friday at 4pm for the day Tristan and I went to my work to get my first paycheck. What a good feeling that was!! I was so excited to show my little man off to everyone. They loved him! :) Afterwards we met Mimi and Ashy at Chipotle for dinner. Yum!

Ashley must have taken this pic while I was at training. Now I know why he loves to be babysat by them so much!

Saturday I had that training I mentioned above from 9am to 3pm. On my way their in the POURING rain my car had some major difficulties. I have an 07 Honda Civic that has given me many, many problems... not your typical Honda! Anyway, I was exiting 30 West and Beach when my car went completely out of control. It fish tailed, swerved, made an awful noise and by the grace of God I managed to keep it in control and pull over on the side of the road. I called my parents frantic and told them what happened. I couldn't get out of my car because #1 it was raining horribly and I would be drenched, #2 I was SO close to the other lanes that I would've been hit and #3 I know nothing about cars. But I truly thought I lost a wheel...scary. After my parents came to my rescue they dropped me off for a day of training.

Later that night Tristan and I met with one of my best friends/college roommate for dinner with her entire family for her g-pa's 70th birthday. We had SUCH a great time and of course Tristan put on a show for everyone. :) He is talking so much now it is crazy. He has overcome his shyness and loves to hug, play with or be held by people he doesn't know very well. They all loved him and were so sweet to him but they could not get over how tall he was (one family member asked if he was 4. Ha!) and how good he was. They kept saying he's 2...and not terrible at all! I love that I have an easy going, well tempered boy, even when I keep him out until 10pm!! T kept telling Krystle "ki ki, I yuv you." He is really into "yuving" things these days!

Ready for dinner! :)

I have got to get a new camera...I have no clue what is up with this pic but nonetheless, I love them both!!

Today we celebrated family birthdays. My little sister, Melody turned 21 today. My mom turns...35 :)tomorrow  and my sister Natalie will be 26 Wednesday. As you can see we have a ton of Sept birthdays which is why I was excited when I found out my due date with Tristan was Oct 16. Little did I know he would try to come in August and be postponed until September. We are just destined to be a family of Sept bdays! :) We catered Macaroni Grill and had my g-parents over for a delicious lunch and to watch the Cowboy's game.

Me and little man before church. Again, horrible camera. I know what I want for Christmas... :)

Tristan with the birthday girl. He loves his aunt Mel!

I love that we are experiencing jean permitting weather. I went out and got Tristan another pair and a hoodie today. Bring it on fall!

Look at all those stickers! Every morning Tristan wants a sticker on each hand. He got the one on his shirt at church today!

It cracks me up that he crosses his "little" feet while he plays.

Lunch!

It's hard to see but we had some delicious dessert too!

Nanny with 2 of the birthday girls. Isn't she so cute?! :)

Mom and Mel!

All of the birthday girls together!

Happy Birthday Melody, mom and Natalie, and many, many more!

Meet our friend, Barney!

Yesterday was Tristan's 2 year, well-baby check up. I have taken Tristan to every single doctors visit, planned and unplanned. Well Friday morning, I didn't get home til 7:30am and I didn't get into bed until 9am. When I got home Tman was awake so we went to get breakfast together and played for a little bit (AND let Mimi sleep in :)! Tristan's appointment was at 10:30 meaning we would need to leave by 10am, meaning I would get 1 hour of sleep. SO....I asked Mimi and Poppy if they would like to take Tristan, I went back and forth with it because I really did not want to miss the check up, but I also did not want to get sick from lack of sleep.

Of course they happily agreed to take him. I told mom not to let them give T any shots because I have him on an alternate immunization schedule. And off they went! When I woke up everyone was playing in the living room and my mom said "Oh ya, let me tell you how the appointment went." If it was anything like the other check ups, there wouldn't be much to update on beyond the usual...

Tristan is 30lbs! He gained 3lbs in the past month from when we went in for a viral infection he had. His head hasn't grown which means he is finally growing into it! :) And "little" man is 35 inches, 85th percentile. Dr. Deitchman told mom that given his genetics that Tristan will have a huge growth spurt at some point during puberty which is when his massive height will come into play. I can't wait to see how BIG my boy will be one day! Now, for the out of the ordinary news. Tristan has had a cough the past couple of days which I thought nothing of. The weather is changing, allergies, pre school etc. But, dr. D heard it and said that it sounded asthmatic to him. My mom and sister Ashley are severe asthmatics so it wouldn't be a stretch for T to have asthma. However, Dr. D said that he was not ready to diagnose Tristan with that because he is still so young, this could be a flare up caused by other elements and such. He did give us a prescription for breathing to help with his current respiratory issues, which is where Barney comes in.

The mask that Tristan has to wear to get his meds is a purple dinosaur, my mom and T named him Barney, of course! Ha. Tristan isn't a fan of the treatments just because it's new and there is a mist of it which gets into his eyes. My poor baby! I am so thankful for such an awesome pediatrician, he is one of the top ones in Ft Worth, as a matter of fact the man is booked and not even accepting new patients. He is wonderful, and we love him! My mom said that she didn't even have to tell him no shots because he mentioned that since all T needed was the flu shot (which I am against completely) and a Hep A shot which again, he doesn't HAVE to have or really need, that it just wasn't necessary given his current condition to administer them.

I was a tad bit upset that the ONE time I didn't take my baby to the dr that he needed all this done but I think it was God's way of reminding me that HE is in control and ultimately HE is Tristan's protector, provider, and healer. I find myself needing to be reminded of such things every now and again. :) We are praying and confessing that our boy will be asthma free at his next check up!

Tristan the Elephant!

Today was an unusual but fun Thursday for us! Grayson, one of Tristan's bff had his 3rd birthday party at Paradise Pond in Grapevine! I picked lil man up early from school and off we went. Of course I forgot the present, but in my defense I went to bed at 8:45am and woke up at 2pm. Not enough sleep!!

We spent a lot of time in the car section. The whole way there and back in the car Tristan would say "mommy, another car!" "mommy, another truck!" "mommy, airplane!" I love that he says mommy before everything. :)

The group, notice how thrilled Tristan is to take this pic?! Ha.

Grayson, the birthday boy!
Grayson with his family!

Tristan's FAVORITE toy. I said last time we went to Paradise Pond that I was going to get this for him for his birthday and I forgot...I think I may just have to surprise him one day in the next couple of weeks with this. The weather is perfect for an outside roller coaster!

I think we did this for about 30 minutes. I had to bribe him away from it!

Grayson and Tristan riding together!

Tristan and Elliott, these two seriously love each other. Look how huge Tman is next to this little lady!! Her mom is Tracy, the woman behind Tristan's name train and the "T is for Tristan" canvas. :)

One of the party favors was this adorable hat. Doesn't T look like he just loves wearing it?! Ha.

Before bath time each night Tristan runs into the living room naked as a little jay bird and everyone ogles over how cute his little tush is. Well tonight he did his pre-bath time parade in the elephant hat. TOO funny!

Elephants are one of Tristan's favorite animals, he knows most jungle animals by name. It is so cute to hear him say "El-fant".

We breezed through day 2 of no pacy! Tristan didn't even ask for it. Not one time!! I did give it to him at bedtime (which I'll also phase out) and he went right down. This morning when he woke up I told him to put the pacy and blankie in his bed and he tossed them both right in and we walked away. Such a good boy! It is crazy how much more he talked today with out that plug in his mouth! He has always had a very good vocabulary and understanding of what we're saying but today he really expressed himself. T loves riding in the car and you usually won't hear a peep out of him. He would suck on his pacy and watch out the window. Well, today he pointed out every single car, truck, and airplane he saw (which were a lot since we were near the airport). He also sang along to songs on KLTY that he has heard a million of times in the car but I never knew he knew. It was so sweet and special to hear him singing to Jesus!

A couple of side notes. One, I am in the process of applying for graduate school, I will miss having no homework and no class but I am very excited to continue my education and earn my Masters in Counseling so I can eventually work in a private practice. Please pray that God directs me exactly where HE wants me to be. Two, you may have notice the new handy email feature on the upper right hand of the blog. You enter your email address in there and receive a confirmation email where you will simply click on a link to confirm you got the email. After that is done you will be automatically notified each time I write a post. Simple as that! I have been sending out emails each time I update and I either forget to do it half the time or spend 10 minutes getting them all out. So, this is a much better way. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Happy Friday!

Peace Out Pacy!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe I am about to write this...but the pacy is leaving us. :( Yes, it makes me sad..."why?" you may ask. BE-CAUSE it is the last thing that makes Tristan a baby. Okay, maybe not but it feels like it. Plus its my very own "easy/mute button"!! Ha.

Since the day Tristan was born he has had a pacy. I know he can go with out it because he is not allowed to have it at school, his teacher's rules...not mine. He does just fine too! He never asks for it, goes to sleep for nap time with out it and is still happy. He knows that he is our baby and can pull a fast one on us at home...but not anymore, sorry bubs!

(Ohhh I remember this day so well. We were getting ready to come home from the hospital, I was in bed and he was on my lap...you can even see his little crib in the background.! *Tear*)

Tristan's woobies (security blankets) will be joining the pacies. I'm sure you've all seen him, in pictures or in person holding his giraffe, monkey, love bug, or silk lime green ones. Unfortunately they will be hiding out in my closet and only coming out at bedtime as well (one at a time!). Tristan would keep all his woobies and pacies with him at all times if I let him. But, I know that it is really important for him to self soothe and not rely on those things to always calm him down, which they have up until now.

I collected all his pacifiers today and after Tristan came home from school we went outside to give them to Cowboy, our cat, Prince, our dog and to the birds.

Tristan did REALLY well. He tried to put one in Cowboy's mouth, good thing he is a sweet kitty, he just sat there and let him. Ha! We both took turns throwing 20 pacifers in the yard for the birds. Afterwards Tristan said "Bye pacies, I yuv you!!" We walked inside and he hasn't mentioned them yet! I held out 2 of them and I am keeping them hidden, only to be given to him at bedtime the first week or so then eventually I will cut the tip of them and offer him one, when he realizes it doesn't allow him to suck anymore, he will turn it down...so I'm told! But as for the rest of them, they are going, going, gone...! Thanks Poppy for going out with a grocery bag after us and picking them all up to throw away. :)

Giving cowboy a pacy!

Oh Tristan, I hope you forgive me...!! I promised you, you could have them until you were 2, and I even gave you a few extra days! :) You are such a BIG boy, next thing is potty training...but I am not rushing that!!
On another note, I am LOVING this weather. We took a walk today and played outside for a while with Mimi and Poppy.

Love him!!

The best Mimi and Poppy, ever. :)

Is he not the sweetest boy, or what?!! He was being pulled in the wagon and wanted to hold my hand!!

Goodbye summer, HELLO fall! :)

My little pumpkin TWO years ago, and of course, with a matching pacy!
