We celebrated Christmas day in Oklahoma this year. We had such a wonderful time with my mom's cousin's family! Christmas eve my mom and sisters made queso, sausage balls (the best!!), cookies and dip to eat while we vegged around the house, watched movies and then went looking at lights!

We got up EARLY Christmas morning to open presents then head out to Oklahoma. Our goal was to leave by 9am, I think we pulled out of the drive way around 10:30am...for our family, that is pretty good. Ha! We made a point this year as a family to give more to others than each other. My mom presented our family with the donations we all made collectively, it was really special. My parents fed 40 children in Africa for 3 months! Tristan and I fed 2 babies in Africa, provided prenatal care for a mother and infant in Africa, and bought a mosquito net for a family. And my sisters donated to another Christian ministry that deals with world hunger. I say that not to brag, because we deserve no glory, God deserves it all, but to show how easy and do-able it is to impact the life of another. The day T and I made our donation I sat Tristan down and talked to him. I explained that not every boy and girl gets to have lots of toys, or food. I told him that it was sad that they didn't have that stuff. He replied "that is sad, mommy." I asked him if he wanted to pray for them and he said "yes!" So we prayed for those sweet children and at the end he let out a loud "AMEN!" What a special moment to share with my son.
Tristan ended up getting lots of gifts, which I was okay with because we still gave to those in need. I guess its impossible to expect grandparents and aunts to do nothing for the ONLY grandchild/nephew at Christmas time. :) I got Tristan his red chair from PB and he definitely likes it, but the motorcycle that I gave Santa credit for (darn it! :) He is OBSESSED with!
Mom and Ashley got him an art easel, he loves painting and coloring so I can't wait to break that thing out and have at it!
They also got him a baby doll who he named "baby". I am totally secure in my son playing with a doll, especially since he is constantly playing with trucks, trains and cars. I think he is preparing for the amazing daddy he will be one day! :)
Last week Tristan broke my make up so my amazing sister, Ashley got me this wonderful Calvin Klein set. I love it!!
Tristan apparently had the same idea and got me this gift card. Ha! I love what it says from him. Good thing that is one of my fave stores and I can find much more than makeup in there!
One of my other presents that I loved was a picture from Tristan's 2 year photo shoot that I have had in his closet, now beautifully framed. As a mom those are the BEST presents. Ahhh I love it so much!!
After opening presents we had to hurry, hurry to get dressed. Tristan rode his motorcycle ALL over the house. I called him to the bathroom to brush his teeth/fix his hair and this is how he came to me. Ha ha!
We loaded the car (with Tristan's bike because he refused to leave it) and off we went to OK! Tristan did SO good in the car. He loves car rides, thankfully! I think the first hour and a half he slept, then he listened to my Ipod for a bit because I have some kids songs on there for him and vegged out the rest of the way. Such a good boy! **Side note** Yes, that is a pacie you see in the picture. Tristan only has TWO left that he found somewhere in our house, he gets it at night time only but since we got up at 5:30am and wanted a happy Christmas morning, he got to take it out of bed with him, somehow it stayed close by all weekend but Christmas is over and so is the weekend so back in bed it stays, sorry bubs! :)
Crossing the OK state line, what a beautiful site!
Jamming to mommy's Ipod!
By the time we got there it was about 3pm and we were all starving! We ate the amazing lunch cousin Debbie prepared and enjoyed each other's company! Even though we are all in our 20's and I have a child, we were still at the "kids table", but it was the best one for sure! :)
Tristan LOVES Jessica! He had that poor girl chasing, tickling, and entertaining him all weekend!
Tristan lovin' on cousin Debbie!
By about 8pm that little boy was out! I think about 30 minutes later we were both asleep in that chair. Having fun is exhausting!
Our last day there was Sunday, we woke up had a delicious breakfast, relaxed and had girl time while the dads went to the Casino. After they got back we broke out the Wii and played for a while.
Tristan would get right beside whoever was playing and use his car as a controller, it was too sweet.
Mimi (and Tristan, apparently) won!
This is how I got to play Wii, can we say attached??!! Ha. He sure does love his momma!
Well as much as we hated to leave we got all our stuff packed and headed home around 4pm. We sure did have the best time there and are planning another trip soon. It was so nice to get out of the city and enjoy family. I brought my lap to skype but other than that I don't think I got on while we were there, which is amazing for me. Ha! The only time we watched the tv was to play the Wii, and Tristan went 2 days with out Mickey Mouse Club House!! Wow, nothing like a good get-a-way!

I leave you with a picture of Tristan's bedding that came in on Christmas Eve! I thought it was 2 presents I ordered, one for my parents and one for Ashley but I was wrong, and a tad bit disappointed since his bedding wasn't a gift and I ordered it days after I ordered the other stuff! Maybe the presents will come today?! :) I was expecting a coffee mug with pictures of Ashley and Tristan all on it since she is obsessed with coffee, and Tristan! :) And a huge picture canvas I got of my parents and Tristan. But...this is what we got instead, for now!

The wall above this bed is completely decorated, and everything is in except his bed that I am ordering this week and the curtains I have got to go get. Then we have some re-arranging to do and we will be done! More pictures to come of the final product. I just couldn't resist posting pics of his precious bedding, I really do love how it turned out! I don't think Tristan will forget his name, it is all over his room. Maybe he will start spelling it soon!
I am off to unpack, get ready and take little Mr. to lunch with Allie, Ashley and Jill at BJ's, yum!
It's almost 2011...how crazy is that!!??
