First week back at work
Last Monday was my first day back at work. I woke up an extra hour early so I could spend quality time with Kennedy; feeding her, dressing her for the day, and rocking her for a while. It was very hard for me to leave her. I was emotional and tears were definitely shed. I said a prayer on my drive and after that I was fine. I just kept reminding myself "12 days till summer break".
I'm thankful for another day off tomorrow, and the men and women who paid the ultimate price to give us the freedoms we have here in America. Tomorrow is so much more than backyard BBQ's, three day weekends and no work. It's remembering those who fought for our freedom.
When I got to my school the teachers had written this on the board in the classroom I work in. The kids were SO happy to see me, and that was rewarding. One little boy had an entire paper written about me coming back. It was precious.
As soon as 3pm hit the clock, I was out the door and on my way home. I feel so blessed to not only do what I love, but have awesome/flexible hours.
I got home to these two love muffins. Dwight did amazing holding down the fort. He said Ken was great for him, that warmed my heart.
Bath time is mine and Kennedy's time. She LOVES her bath. If she is fussy or upset and I run the bath water, she instantly calms down. I cherish this time with her each night, especially last week!
Mimi kept the kids Tues/Thurs since Dwight had clients during the day. My mom took these pictures and sent them to me. Tristan loves time with his Mimi!
Planting flowers and decorating for Memorial Day weekend.
Friday, I worked from home. This was my work buddy. I mean, look at the rolls on this girl!! It was nice to have this day at home on my first week back. This mama's heart needed it!
Kennedy is so much fun! She is so expressive. She coos and smiles, and is just pure joy! I love her chubby little body, beautiful eyes, and that her tongue is always sticking out. Perfection!
Friday afternoon I took Tristan on a little sonic date. I cherish this alone time with my oldest love!
Dwight and I went to dinner Friday night. I was a little under the weather but took some meds and felt okay. We took Kennedy with us and dropped Tristan off at my parents...since he NEVER gets to see them! ;)
Mimi and Poppy took little man to get sno cones and a fish aquarium to keep at their house. My sisters and I are confused as to who these people are, not the same ones who raised us. Ha!
Sunday morning before church Tristan tended to Ken (who was VERY upset) as I hurried to get ready. I heard the crying stop and Tristan was by her bassinet, rocking her. He had put her pacy in her mouth, covered her with my robe and got her to sleep. He is THE sweetes bro!!
Today we have gone to church, lunch, and had some much needed down time! We had a busy day at daddy's tournament all day yesterday.

Weekend fun
What a fun weekend we had! It went by too fast, especially with me going back to work tomorrow.
We found every animal except the otter due to sister having a bit of a hunger melt down. Ha!
Friday night, Dwight and I went grocery shopping...with the kids. Very wild night out. Ha! ;)
Saturday, I took the boys to a fun birthday party at the Fort Worth Zoo while Dwight coached 4 different games.
It started off in the 60's so I had Ken in a long sleeved dress. By the time we got to the party it was nearly 80 degrees so I had to pull a spare onesie out of her diaper bag. Gotta love Texas weather!
The boys had so much fun celebrating their friend, Harper. His mom put on THE cutest little party!
After a personal preview of some friendly animals, crafts, cake, and snacks, we set out on a scavenger hunt in the zoo. The boys loved circling the animals on their list as we saw them.
Petting the snake. Much braver than their mama!
Chubby lil miss! I cant get over all her rolls. They are the best!!
After the party I took the kids by Dwight's dads house. Kennedy got to meet her great-grandma for the first time!
We ended our jammed packed Saturday at church. Our church does services on Saturday and Sunday. Since D had to coach again this morning we went last night.
Today has been relaxing. I slept in until 9:30 with my sweet girl, did some much needed cleaning and ran a few errands.
I can't believe this little girl turned 6 weeks yesterday, time needs to slow down!
Looking forward to my summer with these two. Only 14 more school days and then I'll be working mostly from home. Woohoo!!
Off to get things ready for tomorrow. Milk has been pumped, clothes laid out, and schedules written down. Dwight will be with Kennedy and Tristan till I get off at 3pm, then he goes to work. I am so grateful our schedules work out to where one of us are with the kids. :)

Tristan's Pre-K Graduation
Somehow, some way, my little 6lb 8oz baby boy turned into a 48lb, 5 and half year old boy. It happened so fast, too fast. Thursday night, Tristan graduated from pre-K. After two years of attending his Christian preschool, he is ready to move forward to Kindergarten. Tristan learned so much more than his ABC's and 123's the past two years. He learned about Jesus and how to love others like God loves us. He has gone to chapel, Spanish class, and grown so much...more than I ever expected.
I got these three little cuties ready and we were off to watch our big boy walk across the stage!
Tristan has made so many sweet little friends. Friends we will certainly keep in touch with. It was hard to say goodbye, but really it's just "see you soon!"
Ms. Kim and Ms. Melani, LOVE Tristan.
They always have the sweetest things to say about him. During our parent/teacher conference last week, they told me how intelligent Tristan was. Ms. Melani said "I'm afraid Tristan might be bored in Kindergarten." She explained how he can count to 200, says complex things and understands complex material. She went on to say more encouraging, wonderful things about our boy. We were so proud!
This is Tristan's BEST friend, Pierce.
Pierce is the funniest little boy you will ever meet. When we got to school that night he said, "Come here Tristan, you little cutie...give me a kiss!" HA!! These two couldn't be any more opposite. Tristan is very serious, mellow, and logical in his thinking, and is careful in all he does. Pierce is a free spirit, SO out going, and can light up any room. He has the energy level of no one I have ever seen. They are like ying and yang and definitely even each other out. Thankfully I am friends with Pierce's mom so we will certainly stay in touch with them!
Me and my sweet girl at graduation. Mama forgot her shoes. Sorry, K (second baby probs).
Can you see that little dimple on her right cheek? Precious!!
I caught Faith coming down the aisle during the ceremony. Faith is like another child to me. I have known her since she was in her mother's womb. I've known her family since I was 8 years old. Tristan and Faith have a sister/brother relationship. They are a mess together! We have carpooled with Faith to/from school the second part of the school year. I will miss our mornings with her.
Before receiving their diplomas, the kids put on a performance where they sang about 6 songs. I definitely got teary eyed during this. My favorite thing is to hear Tristan sing about Jesus. It is the best!!
While Tristan was inside the school, I went outside with Amari and decorated our car. Dwight had to work late and meet up with us later, so he didn't know that I was painting the windows of our 3 day old car. Ha! But hey, it was a special occasion and he agreed upon seeing it later!

My mom and I met up earlier that day, after I dropped Tristan and Faith off at school. We had planned to do a graduation party that night for T, so we had some shopping to do! We went to the bakery got a chocolate on chocolate cake (Tristan's favorite!), went to the party store for decorations, and ended at Target to get graduation gifts.
Thanks Mimi and Poppy for all you have done this year; picking Tristan up from school on days we could not, making every school party/event, packing school lunches on days I ran out of time or forgot (thank you pregnancy brain). We are thankful for you!
It was only fitting that my parents host the party at their house. :)
*don't you just love this face?! haha!*
Tristan's teachers made each child a detailed scrapbook of their year. Such a special gift I will always cherish.
I am so proud of this little boy. Tristan knows all about graduation because he saw me graduate from college with both of my degrees. He was so excited to have a turn
There was much fun to be had celebrating T's major accomplishment. It's not everyday you graduate from pre-k! ;) After Tristan's performance we went back home and surprised Tristan with this party. He was THRILLED and so surprised! It was absolutely priceless and worth every effort we put in it. Tristan had a blast and that made my heart so happy.
Love my boy!!
Mimi went ALL out decorating in true "Mimi fashion". It was perfect!
When gift time came, T was very excited. Mimi and Poppy got him a plane that flies 30 feet. He had been wanting it for so long and was ecstatic when he opened it.
I asked Dwight to pick T something SMALL up earlier that day as a "good job gift", since I was running errands. When he got to the school he said "I dropped the present off at your mom's." I asked him what he ended up getting and told me "a 6 foot basketball goal." Well, there goes small. Ha! Daddy loves his babies and always goes over the top to show them (and their mama).
If you know T, you know his passion for basketball. It is all he wants to play, watch and talk about. I tried to put cartoons on for him the other morning before school but he begged to watch the NBA play offs Dwight had taped on DVR. He can tell you every NBA team, and who is playing just by looking at their jerseys. I guess it won't hurt him that his doctor thinks he will be 6'10 as an adult. ha!
I told Tristan this is just one of many graduations for him. He has promised me he will not only graduate from high school, but college too...hopefully more than once! ;) Love him!!
Happy pre-K graduation, sweet boy!! I hope you had the BEST celebration, you deserve it!
