Happy Harvest!

Dwight and I decided last year that we weren't going to "celebrate" Halloween. I believe everyone must go with their own personal convictions (and I don't judge others for what they choose to do on this day), this was one of ours. So, we have been emphasizing in our household the awesomeness that is the fall season! How beautiful it is, how God created it, and how we can celebrate the harvest each year. Instead of trick or treating we are attending a local church festival and keeping things as Christ centered as possible. :)

Today, Tristan's preschool class had their fall party. I took off work at noon and headed up there to see my boy!

These aren't the best pics (they are off my phone) but how cute are these kiddos?! Look how much taller T is than his classmates. Ha!

T and one of his best friends, Jake.

Tristan's VERY best friend, Pierce. I love these two!!
Pierce's mom is a midwife and lets just say she has gotten a couple 12am/1am texts from me. She is SO sweet and helpful.

Pre-K 4!!

Doing arts and crafts!

Wrapping their teachers up as mummies!

Faith and Tristan after school.
Poor Faith's heart was broken that her buddy couldn't come home with her. Sweet girl!

Mimi and Ashley also came to the party. Afterwards we headed to Mimi's house so T could spend some time with my family since we won't be with them tonight.

If you're wondering whether you've seen Tristan in this costume before...you have. This will be his THIRD year in a row to wear it. I bribed, begged, and pleaded with him to go a different direction, but he insisted this was what he wanted to be (again). So, hopefully this is the last of the Lightening McQueen costume, look how small that hat is getting. Haha!

My two little pumpkins! Today I am 15 weeks pregnant. My sister said "man your pregnancy is going by fast!" It always seems like that if you aren't the one pregnant... ;) Now that I am feeling better, the pace is picking up, thank goodness!! Next Friday we will have an answer as to whether baby C is a he or a she! I had a sonogram last week and the sonographer guessed what she thought it is...but we are waiting to share until we know FOR SURE. I cannot wait to announce!

I hope you all have a FUN and SAFE evening with your families! Happy Harvest to you!!

Pumpkin Patch 2013

Friday I took off work around 3pm ( I LOVE that I can set my own hours), and came straight home to my boys. Dwight and I took Tristan on a special fall date and he certainly enjoyed himself! We went to a fun patch in Colleyville and enjoyed the beautiful weather, hayrides, yummy food, farm animals, precious photo ops and more!

Love him!!

The weather was fab-ulous! It was nice to have some special time with this sweet boy. He thought so too! :)

Silly boy standing by the corn maze!

Seriously, this little face melts my heart! He is going to be such an awesome big brother. I can't wait to see him in action!

Dwight laughed at me because I packed so many layers but I HATE being cold, and I knew the temp would drop once the sun went down, and I was right. :) T put on his second layer and played on the playground while we waited for our hayride.

My pics are out of order, but oh well! I ate SO much food. I kept telling Dwight how excited I was for Thanksgiving...bring on the food!

If you live in the DFW area, check out The pumpkin patch in Colleyville of Hall-Johnson. Such a fun little place!

All I could think about was how this time next year we will have a 6/7 month old baby in these pics. Oh, I CANNOT wait!

Such a daddy's boy!

Tristan was obsessed with this hay hut. I think he played inside of it for 20 minutes or more. It's the little things!

Such a fun night with my sweet little family.
*Can I just say that I am excited to be out of the first trimester and able to dye my roots? Ha! Appointment is already made. *

Pregnancy highlights: 14 weeks

(Picture taken a week ago...I promise to get better at this :)

How Far Along: 14 weeks
Size of baby: Baby C is the size of a lemon. He/She is about 3.4 inches long and weighs about 1.5 ounces.
Gender: I scheduled our gender 3d sonogram for Friday, Nov 8th! I am in the process of planning a small gender reveal dinner with close friends and family for that same day. I can't wait to find out in a little over two weeks. Dwight and I both think it's a girl, and we have her name picked out. If this baby is a sweet little boy, we have agreed on a first name...making progress. Ha!

Maternity Clothes: I finally took on the task of maternity clothes shopping and it was not as bad as I feared it would be. I feel SO much more comfortable in maternity shirts. The pants are still too big for me in the waist and too short in length, so I just went up a size in regular clothes for pants. We'll see how long that will work!
Weight gain: 6 pounds. I weight 113 pounds at the doctor yesterday, that is the most I have weighed since I've had Tristan (which is a good thing!). I tried so hard to pack on the pounds the past few years...who knew that all I needed was to get pregnant to help me along?!? ;)
Movement: I am eagerly awaiting the first kick. I can't wait to experience that feeling, it's the best!
Sleep:  I am literally in bed by 8pm and up by 6am. I no longer need naps throughout the day, and my energy level is so much higher.
Symptoms: The nausea seems to be lingering...it is not horrible, but I still need a Zofran at least once each morning, sometimes again in the evening.
Cravings:  Mexican food, fruit, salad, sweets!
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby on sonogram (yet again!). I love getting all these pictures of my precious baby! Here is one that I got yesterday. :)

Still here! :)

I am still here!! :) I have completed my first week of my new job and I absolutely LOVE it. This position is so perfect for myself and my sweet family. I feel so blessed to be able to do something I a)went to school to do. b) still allows me to keep my family as a top priority.

This little boy has been waking up early these days, but I don't mind because it gives us plenty of time for morning snuggles before I go to work. Thankfully, mine and Dwight's work schedule allow for him to be with one of us (when he is not at school, two days a week).

Last weekend we had Amari's birthday celebration. All 3 kids LOVED it. The weather was beautiful and tons of people came to show their love. I rented this bounce house and Dwight's sister catered an entire meal for everyone. That made this pregnant woman VERY happy. Ha!

One night last week, D and I went maternity clothes shopping (which was hilarious), and on a yogurt date. Dwight told me "I thought maternity clothes looked like this..." as he held up a nightgown that my great, great grandmother would have worn. Ha! Thankfully he has been enlightened that maternity clothes can in fact be cute! **And my yogurt is NOT the one topped with all the candy. I opted for a "healthy" strawberry with granola topping.

This morning we had an early sonogram and midwife appointment: 8:15am. Yikes! Both my boys came. :) This picture is a perfect illustration of T and his daddy. Stuck together like glue and best buds. Tristan use to be such a mama's boy (and still can be time to time), but he LOVES his daddy. The first thing he asked me this morning was "is today my day with daddy?!?!" I love their bond.

I had to bribe Tristan to ride in the car with me to the dr, since we had to take 2 cars. I love our car ride chats. Of course he wanted to go in daddy's car, but when I offered to play Christmas music, he couldn't resist. Ha!

There is a tiny glimpse of life lately! Happy Wednesday. :)

Thursday's Thoughts

1) I am 13 weeks today, officially in my second trimester. Woohoo!! I'm feeling pretty good for the most part, just normal pregnancy aches and pains at this point.

2) Yesterday I started a new job as a behavior interventionist. I know it probably seems like I change jobs as much as I change socks, but this is the first "real" job I've had since graduating with my undergrad degree. It's full time with lots of flexibility which is exactly what I want/need. I am contracted through an awesome organization to work in conjunction with Fort Worth ISD. I absolutely love it!

3) This fall weather is perfect! I can't get enough of it. I told Dwight we are breakin in the fireplace this weekend. He promised the kids we would make s'mores, so perfect excuse!

4) Dwight and I have been playing "the name game" for baby C. Our girl name is almost 100 percent but we have NO boy name at all. We keep liking different ones. Tristan suggested Isaac or Curious George. Hmmm! ;) D loved Issac, all I could think of was Isaac Hanson. Ha! So we will keep brainstorming.

5) Tomorrow is Friday and we have a full weekend planned: Amari's birthday party, the pumpkin patch, and some deep cleaning/organizing are on the agenda. I know with the holidays around the corner, my due date in the Spring, and life in between we will have a busy next few months. I like to get ahead in my preparations. :)

Hope you have a happy Thursday and a blessed weekend!

Tristan

I just realized every picture (except one) in this post is of Tristan. :)

Friday "little" man had his 5 year check up. Of course he was off the charts with his height: 3 feet 8 inches, 95th percentile. His weight is 40lbs (50th percentile) and that put his BMI at 1 percent...we have one tall and skinny boy on our hands!

Thursday, Tristan had his very first sleepover with a friend! Pierce is T's very BEST friend and they seriously have the sweetest relationship. They have been in the same school class for two years, and I've been able to develop a special friendship with P's mom. We love them!
Kaitlyn picked the boys up from school and took them for a snack. Look how happy they are!

She sent me these two pictures and I just thought they were SO sweet! T is so blessed to have friends like these.

Mimi calls me at least once a week for a lunch date. The easiest way to get me out if the house is food, she knows me too well! One day last week, we headed to eat some yummy Mexican food. Chips, salsa, enchiladas, rice and beans, yes please!!

I sent Dwight this picture text the other day and told him I wanted this pillow. My back is starting to bother me and this belly is only getting bigger!

Well today we had planned on taking the kids to the pumpkin patch since Brianna is out of school, but it's been raining all day. So, instead we have stayed in our pjs, watched movies, munched on our homemade rice krispe treats, and plan on carving a pumpkin in a bit. Love fall!

I couldn't help but post this flashback picture of T from his second fall. My sweet giraffe baby!

Pregnancy Highlights: 12 Weeks

(Please excuse my dirty bathroom. Ha!)

How Far Along: 12 weeks

Size of baby: Baby C is the size of a plum. He/She is about 2.1 inches long and weighs about .49 ounces.

Gender: I go back and forth on what I think this sweet baby is. I will genuinely be thrilled either way! I love the idea of having a little girl of my own, but I also know how much I LOVE my little boy...and being the mom of TWO boys would be so fun! My 3d sono is scheduled for Nov 5th. This is a full body scan sono setup with the specialist since I had preterm labor with Tristan. We are hoping to be able to find out the gender then since I'll be right at 16 weeks. Fingers crossed!

Maternity Clothes: My jeans no longer button (I've been doing the old hair tie trick) and are not comfortable to wear. I am going shopping for some staple wardrobe items this weekend. :)

Weight gain: 3 pounds!

Movement: I can't feel anything yet...hopefully in a few weeks! Dwight is always rubbing/kissing my belly and according to my baby books the baby can feel that. It's sweet. :)

Sleep:  I feel like a new woman! I am oh so happy to see the first trimester depart.

Symptoms: My belly is definitely stretching and gets sore because of the muscles pulling. I also get so full after eating, no matter how much/little. There isn't a whole lot of room in this stomach of mine but everything is cramming in there just fine. ;)

Cravings:  Chicken fried steak (my amazing parents got me some from Texas Road House at 10pm the other night. I HAD to have it.), pineapple, oranges, Mexican food, and Jamba Juice.

Best moment this week: seeing baby on sonogram again!

I am so looking forward to welcoming in the second "honeymoon" trimester next week. Sometimes I feel like we JUST found out about being pregnant, other times it feels like I've been pregnant for a year. Ha! Hope everyone has a great weekend.
