Getting ready for the wedding!

What a spectacular, perfect, beautiful, AMAZING weekend  we had.
I just can't believe how things turned out and how incredibly faithful the Lord is, even when we are so undeserving.

Thursday I had to work for about 4 hours and while I did, Dwight took all three kids to Brianna's doctor's appointment and then to the park for a picnic. He sent me pictures of them playing and enjoying their lunch (I think I have finally broken him on the picture thing. ha!!). After work I went home to get Brianna so we could start our girls night. We stopped by Sonic to grab a drink then went to get pedicures and manicures while the boys stayed home and cooked dinner. Bri had such a good time and was such a big girl. It was precious to see her face light up when she saw the wall of nail polish. I truly love this little girl (and mr. Amari) like my own. I can't imagine my life with out her and the days she is not with us, I miss her. Needless to say we got some good mother/daughter time in.

That night Dwight and the boys went to his dad's house to spend the night and Bri and I stayed at the apartment with my sister Ashley so we could have more girl time and prepare for the wedding the next day!
I stayed up until 2am cleaning, organizing, making space for Dwight's things and making mine and Tristan's apartment, "Dwight, Brianna, Amari, Tristan and my" apartment. I wanted to wait for Dwight to leave before doing this so that when he came home after the wedding it would be a surprise. I had our family photos printed, bought new frames, switched out old pics in other frames and replaced them with updated pics. If you have ever been to my apartment, you know its a gallary of Tristan so I had to make room for my other 2 sweet babies. Brianna was SO excited and loved watching me.

After doing 4 loads of laundry, cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, redecorating, putting fresh flowers out and making the apartment feel like home for everyone, I called it a "night" at 2am in the morning. I woke up Friday morning at 6:30am with 1,000 butterflies in my stomach. I knew there was no way I could sleep so I woke up and got a few more things checked off my to do list. Dwight had texted me at 6:20am so I knew he was excited and couldn't sleep either! After a quick phone call to my love I was ready to start the BIG day.  :)

My sisters, Ashley and Melody, along with one of my bffs, Krystle came over to help me get ready.
Krys brought lunch over and stayed with me the rest of the day. We had so much fun, I will always cherish that time with her... just 2 months ago I was helping her get ready for her wedding and had NO CLUE she would be doing the same for me shortly after!

Mel was my makeup artist and a fabulous one at that!

Krys putting the broach in my hair. I love how intently Brianna is watching!

I put my shoes on but didn't have them zipped up all the way. Before I realized it, Brianna was on the floor fixing them. How sweet is she?!?!!

I love her!!

Krys drove Brianna and I downtown to the courthouse and helped keep my stress levels down. Ha! We hit traffic, had trouble with the parking meter and I just knew the rest of the group would get stuck in rush hour traffic. After years of ups and downs, 14 days of planning for the big day and hours of getting ready...I was finally at the courthouse, ready to marry the man of my dreams.

We made it!!

Walking up the steps to the courthouse to meet daddy and the boys.

To be continued....!!

Sneak Peek of our wedding day!

This week has been so hectic, and its only Tuesday!
We have been trying our hardest to squeeze everything into our one bedroom apartment until we move in a couple of weeks. I had class last night and when I got there everyone was passing in papers...I realized that I had completely forgotten we had an 8 page paper due. Thankfully my professor was merciful and told me to get it to her asap and she wouldn't count it late. She was so impressed that I came to class two days after getting married that she didn't really mind. Ha! Needless to say we are still getting settled in but I am planning on having all the posts covering our wedding weekend up by this weekend.
Married life is so much fun and we are both really enjoying it, craziness and all! :)

The last fling before the ring!

The Saturday night  before the wedding, my sisters and mom threw me an awesome bachelorette party!
It meant so much to me and was exactly what I wanted...a fun and classy celebration.
That day Dwight insisted that I treat myself to a (much needed) hair appointment. After pampering myself I came home got ready and Krystle picked me up. It was pouring rain and so cold!! We drove to the jewelers to pick up my ring since it was finally ready. I am so thankful for our friendship and ALL the memories we share. We enjoyed talking about pregnancy (for her), weddings, marriage, the Lord and so many other things on our drive. Dwight told me that while I was out, he and Tristan went and had their own bachelor party at Cheddars, just the two of them! :)

The party was held at Anamias in Southlake.
My mom had everything decorated  beautifully (of course) and some of my closest girl friends from high school and college were there to greet me. It was such a FUN, FUN night!

We enjoyed the yummiest Mexican food and a delicious cookie cake (my favorite) after.

Mel and my mom went all out with decorations. They found these cute chocolate candies and my mom broke out the old pics to add to the humiliation factor. Ha!

We all laughed so hard and really had the best time. Especially when these 2 red heart balloons decided to take off and fly to the ceiling for all the restaurant to enjoy. :)

I seriously think I have some of the best friends ever...

They made sure to make my night so very fun!!
Allie came up from Austin and I was super excited to see her.
Of course we had to take our FAB 4 pic.
We've been doing this since we were 13 years old and its crazy to see how much we change in each one!

After dinner we headed back to my parent's house for desserts and more presents.
I sure am a lucky girl to have all these awesome women in my life. :)

Well, I have been married for TWO days and lovin' every second of it!!
I am going to work on a few post for this week...all about the wedding prepartions, ceremony, reception and of course our mini-honeymoon! Dwight will also be guest blogging, so stay tuned for that!

I am off to eat dinner with my husband...I love how that sounds! :)

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!

There are a million things running through my mind today.
Thoughts of how AMAZING God is...how he restored Dwight and I, how he used our time apart to strengthen us, how we have a testimony that will reach so many people, how I never want to forget how hard it is to be a single mom because I know I'm called to lead a ministry regarding that one day.
But most importantly, how NOTHING is impossible with Jesus Christ.

This week has been crazy, exciting, emotional and more.
Our moms have been wonderful in planning and making preparations to insure Friday is perfect.

I finally found a dress for myself that just so happens to match Brianna's. It's little details like that, that in the grand scheme of life aren't important, but God knows their important to me and therefore are important to him. :) I can't help but think how happy it makes the Lord to see 2 of his children reconcile and unite under His authority to raise a family.

All of our clothes are bought, decorations up for our dinner after the courthouse with our families, cakes ordered and ready to be picked up etc.

Today Dwight is being super dad and taking all 3 kids to Brianna's dr appointment (say a prayer for him now. Ha!) while I get some work done. Tonight he is taking the boys over to his dad's house and they are all spending the night there.
Brianna and I will enjoy pedicures, manicures and girl time with my sisters and mom.

I have to say on here how blessed Dwight and I are that Brianna and Amari's moms are two sweet, loving, supportive women. They have been awesome at helping us make tomorrow easier by taking a kid to get a hair cut (Amari) or providing a beautiful dress to wear (Brianna). They were 2 of the first people to text me and congratulate us, and they both offered to take Tristan for the weekend so we could have a kid-free weekend. I haven't ever mentioned them on here and probably won't often because I want to respect their privacy, but I am so very thankful for them.

Alright, there is still more to be done and time is ticking...I promise an update of the bachelorette party and of course the BIG day will be coming your way shortly!

Fun with Mimi & Poppy!

My mom has been keeping Tristan 2 to 3 days a week from 9am to 2pm while I work and Dwight has practice. Tristan absolutely loves his one-on-one time with Mimi and I can see why...she spoils him rotten!!
Some days Poppy is home from work so he gets to join in on their fun. :)
I honestly think they eat Chick fil A at least 2 times a week, its Tristan's favorite!

My mom usually sends me a TON of pics of what they are up to and it makes me happy to see that Tristan is SO happy and SO taken care of! A couple of weeks ago all 3 of them went on this little adventure...notice Tristan starts off wide awake in the car seat and the very last picture says it all!

Thank you Mimi and Poppy for ALL you do, we LOVE you!!!!

Our first family photoshoot!!

I have to say thank you again to a sweet friend of mine, Mariah, for taking our family pictures a couple of weekends ago. I absolutely loved them all but picked a few of my favorites to share on here! :)

8 DAYS UNTIL WE ARE MARRIED!!!
