You know you're a mom when...

So today was a typical Thursday. I woke up at 6am got ready left my house at 7:15am so I could be at DBU by 8am. I had three classes and a test in the last one. I stopped by my friends apartment and we were talking and laughing when I looked down at my feet...my eyes got huge and she asked what was wrong. I had on two DIFFERENT shoes!!! I just started laughing hysterically. Most of you know I LOVE fashion and well, this was a first! I literally got ready in the dark because Tristan was still asleep so I didn't want to wake him up by turning on the light. So, I put on what I thought were brown flats with a cute little bow on top but turned out to be one BLACK flat with a flower on the side and one BROWN flat with a bow...!! I didn't even do that when I was pregnant and couldn't see my feet. haha My mom said I am now officially a member of motherhood. I am so worried about laying Tristan's clothes out for my sister to dress him in, making sure his bottles are made and in the fridge and his baby food and cereal are pre-made that I can't even put on the same pair of shoes! LOL, it's okay I LOVE being a mommy and I will be much more aware of getting dressed in the mornings!!

All dressed up in his church clothes, he seriously has more shoes than me, and they match!

He loves to watch baby Einstein...he's going to be brilliant!

Tummy time!

My "little" man!

This week has been especially busy. I had a test on Thursday in my Intrepersonal Communications class and then I have a test in my New Testament and Abnormal Psychology class to take online before Wednesday...so that means lots of studying, which can be hard with a 5 month old baby. BUT thankfully I have 3 wonderful sisters who love their nephew and are more than willing to help me out. Ashley, my oldest sister came to stay with us today (Saturday), She took Tristan to our grandparents house where he met our great-uncle for the first time and I got in some studying for my psych test.

Tristan is teething like CRAZY! He has been slobbering and gumming on things for over a month now so I am expecting a tooth any day now! He is still possibly the happiest baby on earth. He loves to "talk", dance, watch his baby Einstein and of course be loved on by the 4 women he lives with!! I forgot to mention in my last entry that Tristan had his "4 month" check up...granted we are about 3 weeks behind so he was really closer to 5 months but anyway, he is growing like a weed. He is over 2 feet long, 27 inches to be exact and weighs 16lbs. His height is in the 90 percentile, of course and his weight is in the 50th. The doctor said he could afford to gain a couple of more pounds although I think he is just fine. I can barely carry his carseat as it is!! He did get the second round of his immunizations and responded perfectly. My baby boy is doing great and I am so excited to see him continue to develop into the little man I know he will be!

Tristan chewing on his new toy I got him!

His other favorite toy...thanks aunty Mel!

Getting dressed isn't as easy at it use to be, he fights it!

TK meeting his great, great uncle Richard!

Faith Alexa Presley, the little girl I watch on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I had fun dressing her up while Tristan napped! :) How precious is she?!

Happy 5 Months Tristan!

I cannot believe that exactly one year ago this week I found out I was pregnant. I knew my life was going to change but I had absolutely no clue to what extent. I didn't know that I was going to fall in love with someone so tiny, more than I have EVER loved anyone or anything. I didn't know that I wasn't going to care if I only got 4 hours asleep at night. I didn't know that I was going to get a glimpse of the love my Heavenly Father has for me through being a parent and cherish that relationship even more. But mostly I didn't know that my life was about to begin a new, fresh chapter, filled with hope.

Everything I do now, I do for Tristan. Whether it's doing my very best in school, taking care of myself so I can be here to see my baby boy grow into a man or just slowing down to enjoy the little things in life. I am thankful beyond belief that God turned my lemons into the sweetest lemonade and gave me this gift. Those of you who know me well, know that life hasn't always been easy but I am a testiment of God's grace, mercy and love. He has completely turned my life around for the better by giving me Tristan.

Happy 5 months my precious little prince. Mommy loves you more than anything in this world and I cant wait to share many many more months with you. This ones for you bubba!

My Valentine!

Valentines day was AMAZING!!! For starters, I had the best dates, yes plural. :) Tristan,my best friend Jill and I went out to eat at On the Border where our other friend, Ashley was working and was our waitress. Afterwards, we went to see "He's Just Not That Into You" it was so cute and thankfully, Tristan slept the entire time! I bought Tristan a Valentines card and present that I gave him before we went out and made our first home-video tape!

It's so funny how much your life can change in one year and how my Valentines Day last year and this year were so very different but this one was by far the best, ever.I was with my perfect son who shows me every single day how to love and be loved. I know I have caught a GLIMPSE of God's love for me through being a parent and I know that He must love me a lot to give me something so precious as Tristan.

My Valentine card and present for Tristan.

The cute little card!

My Tristy!

It's been a great week, busy as usual but we wouldn't have it any other way!During the week we had our usual schedule, on Monday's and Wednesday's I watch a precious baby girl, Faith...her family is practically my family. I have known them since I was 8 years old. Then I had class Tuesday and Thursday. Friday we ran errands and Saturday we went to the park. It was super windy but Tristan LOVED being outside and we had a great time! And of course on Sunday we went to church! Here are a few recent pictures of my little hunk. :)

Tristan and Faith!

He loves to sleep with what we call a woobie...known to most as a security blanket! haha

Our day at the park!

He loved it :)

Tristan after church, he's gotten huge if you can't tell!

Carseat

Because my son is HUGE it's time to buy a new carseat. That's right, the $150.00 infant seat we bought him lasted a whole 4 and a half months! haha but it was top of the line and VERY safe which is what we are looking for in his next carseat. I know for sure I want him to have a Britax but can't decide on which one so let me know which one you like best...the are both equally safe just different patterns! Here they are.
