Happy Anniversary!

14  years my parents have been married now!  We all love and appreciate them so very much. I have the best, selfless, loving mother and father and I am so grateful for that! Tonight my mom prepared the most DELICIOUS dinner, ever; Tony, my step dad is from Germany so she made German food. I "dressed" little man up to celebrate the evening and everyone loved it. Tristan Kye is such a good sport!!

We opted out on the pants given the fact that it is so hot out and Tristan has the best, chubbiest legs!

Running from the camera. :)

Such a stud!!

Notice the little tiny car in his hand, he is such a boy!

luscious little lips!

Kisses for Mimi!

Chewing on a train track... ha ha

Not the best pic, Poppy looks like he is about to fall asleep, Tristan is glaring at something but it works!

Can you tell he is a Mimi's boy?!

We love you Mom/Mimi and Tony/Poppy!!!

Weekend Wrap Up!

This weekend flew by! Friday, Tristan went to school for just a few hours and then I picked him up to go swim with his friends. It was very cloudy outside but perfect for the kiddos. Rain eventually moved in and we all went inside for food and much needed "Mommy war stories"! Ha. We had such a good time telling about our labor room drama, how much we loved whoever made the epidural, the aftermath of pregnancy and much more. :)

Grayson, Ld, Briley, Elliott and Tristan ready to swim!

Tristan sure does love blondes! :)

Ready for July 4th!

Little burrito man.

Later that night Tristan and I went to play with Grace for a little bit while her parents went out to dinner. We sure do love that girl!!

Look how happy he is to be outside!

I don't know how many pics I have of these 2 in the bath but it never gets old!

Saturday morning Tristan and I woke up pretty early and went on a mommy and me date, we haven't done that in a while since I've been home most days and able to spend lots of time with him, but we both needed to get out! We went to Southlake did some shopping, grabbed a jamba juice to share and of course, visited the Owl's Nest toy store so Tristan could play with trains! We came home and I made a yummy dinner and dessert to take to a sweet woman in my church group who just had a baby boy, Pierce. Such a cutie!! Straight from there we headed to play with Grace's cousin, Jaxson while his parents went out. The boys had a great time together, I'm telling you, he is going to think he is apart of the Spivey family before too long!

"Look mom!"

Getting TOO big for that stroller!

While we were out shopping we stopped by baby Gap and found the fabulous little boy hats 75% off. Since Tristan LOVES hats I figured I might as well get him one that he can wear with his nice outfits.

Playing at the Owl's Nest!

Tristan and Jaxson

Today we went to church and lunch at Chipotle with aunt Ashley. I've gotten really bad at taking pictures of Tristan with me, my sisters and mom...its usually just of him so I'm going to work on that so he knows we were there!! After an afternoon nap I went to hang out with a friend, we watched the saddest but best movie ever, "Dear John" and made chocolate cup cakes. Whew! That's a lot but it was all fun. I'm trying to soak in being able to do what I want when I want because it will all come to an end very soon when I start working.

Ready for church!

Such a sweet boy.

Hat, blankie, pacy, and ball...check! :)

Well after our busy weekend I am ready for bed. We will be up early tomorrow to go to the zoo! Elliott's mom has a zoo membership so we get to get in the zoo an hour before its open. Hopefully we can beat the heat!

Tristan's Toddler Bed...

My mom called me today and informed me that Tristan's bed came in! I know it may not look like it, but I'm a pretty "handy girl". :) I built, or I guess I should say, put together all of Tristan's nursery furniture, alone. Not because my family refused to help but because I always wanted everything to go up the day I got it. Looks like that hasn't changed! I thought since I've built a crib, bookshelf, wooden high chair, stroller, installed carseats, booster seats etc that this would be no big deal...right, wrong! For 2 hours I messed with that darn bed, it wasn't that it was super hard the directions were just HORRIBLE. I literally had to trouble shoot my way through the process and surprisingly everything turned out pretty well!

I found a way to keep all of his bedding, except the front bumper. Makes me very happy!

My friend Ashley who I've known since the 7th grade stopped by as I was finishing up this enormous project. She kept Tristan occupied and I was able to complete my task. I was VERY proud of my tiny master piece. Tristan instantly wanted to jump on it, roll around, and just be on his bed. I let him get comfortable and do what he wanted. He just thinks its the best thing that he has something his size!

Tristan loves to roam around in his diaper or shorts and no shirt. Such a boy!

I asked to see his teeth, and he is showing me them! (Don't worry we unplugged the stuff in the outlet, put in covers and hid it with the bumper.)

Oh he loves his bed!!

Giving Ashley kisses!

Ashley played bball in high school and is still obsessed with it! She gave Tristan that ball when he was 7 months old and was very happy to see him love it so much.

Its blurry but look at that sweet face!!

Momma stealing some good kisses.

Basketball, check. Basketball shorts, check. No shirt, check. Backwards hat, check. Ready to play ball!

I still wasn't sure how bedtime was going to go. We ate dinner, I bathed him and read him his Bible stories. I decided instead of reading to him in the glider like normal that I would let him be in his bed with me on the floor beside him and read. After the stories were over he grabbed his blankies, I turned on the turtle and box fan, then I just sat by his bed. HE FELL ASLEEP ALL BY HIMSELF!!! I am SO proud of my little man. All this time he just felt boxed in by his crib. I am very thankful we went ahead with the toddler bed instead of a twin or full bed. I think this really allowed him to feel like a "big boy" and not be overwhelmed by the size of a full sized bed. Whew, what a wait off my shoulders!! Here are some sweet pictures of Tristan and his new bed as well as a precious video Ashley took of him in it!

My BIG boy sound asleep in his bed.

Well its 1:15pm, time to pick up my little man and take him to a swim playdate. Happy Friday!! :)

Tristan's 1st School Pictures!!

It took me two months, but FINALLY, here are Tristan's school pictures! I love how absolutely serious he is in them. Its totally him! I have to find a picture of me at this age, one in particular, our faces are identical! Now, I would like to put out a disclaimer that I did NOT know it was picture day or I would have put my boy in a Polo. Ha! But, regardless they are precious and I will cherish his very 1st school pictures forever. Mrs. Jessica, his teacher told me that she had to let him sit on her knee and then lean her way out of the actually picture because he was not having the photographer, can you tell?! I can only imagine some poor man or woman making a fool out of themselves for a smile, grin..anything but as we all know, my boy does not just hand out smiles for anyone, you have to work for them! :)

Happy Father's Day!!

I am so thankful that Tristan has so many outstanding men in his life that love him very much. Yesterday we spent our day celebrating Poppy and of course our Heavenly Father. My step dad, Tony aka "Poppy" has been a vital part in raising Tristan. I cannot put to words the sacrifices he has made to insure that every need, desire, and want of mine and Tristan be filled. Tristan LOVES his Poppy so, SO much. Poppy can make Tristan laugh harder than anyone else can. He and T-boy have a very special relationship and I can't wait to see it continue to grow. It's going to be precious one day when Tristan is towering over Poppy and they can go out in the back, throw a football, dribble a basket ball or do other manly things! :) Poppy is always bringing surprises home for Tristan, whether its another toy truck (apparently Tristan can't have too many of those), a shirt that he just can't live with out, kiddy pool, water gun, tricycle or ball that bounces super high, if its "cool" Tristan "needs" it. Thank you so much Tony for playing a role that you certainly don't have to play but willingly and joyfully do. Tristan and I love you very much!!!

I love when we all get ready, walk out into the living room and realize we match. Green was the color for the day! :)
Aunt Natalie and Tristan before church!

Me and Mel on the way to church!

Riding in Mimi's car. He purposefully didn't look at the camera, little stinker! :)

He takes car-time very seriously, its optimal time to observe!

There is my boy!! Laughing and eating, of course!

Poppy opening one of his gifts, a cool shirt from our church's bookstore.

The "good stuff", a gift card to Lowes, his favorite store. He and my mother took Tristan with them later that night with them to Lowes to spend the gift card, they said T had such a fun time, especially in the lawn and garden section.
