Pregnancy Highlights: 36 weeks!

 

 

 

How far along: 36 weeks

 

Size of baby: I had my weekly checkup yesterday, baby girl is still measuring ahead and estimated to be 7lbs 6 oz. According to my baby center app she should be almost 6lbs. Ha! My stomach has hit what I feel like is full capacity...but we will see! I feel like pictures do not do justice as to how big I actually am, or feel.
  

Gender: All girl! Looking back at the nursery post I did, I realize that the pictures were not the best quality (why do I insist on using my I-phone) and I need to go back and use my actual camera. Her wall color is a very soft pink, it looks super pink in the pics. :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maternity Clothes: I finally made myself go shopping for a couple pair of pajamas to wear in the hospital. Shopping/trying on things is just not as fun when you are 9 months pregnant. I took Tristan with me...Dwight was at work, and he begged, and I mean begged me to buy some ninja turtle underwear he saw in the woman's section. I told him I did not want those, he just could not understand why. Ha! He makes me laugh :)

 

Movement: If K's movement inside the womb is any indication of how it will be outside the womb, I'm a little worried...she is ACTIVE! It could be that she is a chunk and has no more space so I feel everything. I've said many, and I mean many prayers that she would have an easy going, gentle, calm spirit (and like to sleep), so we will see! ;)

 

Sleep: I am back to needing a nap a day!

 

 

 

Symptoms: Contractions. I was convinced I was in labor last night. We were on our way home from dinner and the contractions were awful, and close together. I told Dwight I wanted to go home, lie down for a bit and see if they went away. I do not want to go to the hospital and spend 4 hours just to be sent home. That is the worse! As soon as we got home they completely went away. In my head, from the moment I found out I was pregnant, I was going to deliver this baby at 36 weeks, because that's when Tristan came. Turns out K is comfy and not going anywhere just yet!
  

Cravings: I'm back to craving healthy things (thank goodness!). I had to have a jamba juice today, so T and I went out for a pre-dinner snack date. It was yum!

Best moment this week: Making it to 36 weeks was HUGE! I went into labor with Tristan at 32 weeks and after being hospitalized, I had him at 36 weeks. With Kennedy, there have been so many ups and downs, times I wondered if we would ever see this last trimester. So getting to this point, knowing that if she came today, she would be fine...and having everything ready for her, is just the BEST feeling.

 

 

I have been soaking up these days with Tristan being my "only child". I know he will do awesome as a full-time big brother, but it will still be an adjustment. Daddy dressed him for school today and he was SO proud. His teachers probably think we are nuts. Ha!

 

 

 

 

Well, I guess for now we sit, and wait...in my doctor's words, "she could be here today, tomorrow, next week, or next month." :)

Kennedy's Nursery

I am so excited to finally show you Kennedy's nursery. It has been such a fun process to create this perfectly pink space for my little girl. Every time I walk into her room, I just sigh...I can't believe I am having a GIRL!!!

 

Long before I knew I was having a girl, I knew I wanted an elegant nursery for this baby. When I found out baby Coleman was a girl, I knew I wanted pink, soft pink...touches of hot pink, and white. No particular "theme", just something that was delicate, dainty, and sweet. There were two scriptures that I used as the backdrop for accent pieces in the room; lambs and birds.

 

" Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matthew 6:26

 

"He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young." Isaiah 40:11

 

My mom painted this tree (free-handed). I found the design on Pinterest and she put her magic to work! I painted the crib which has an antique look to it in person. It was a long process, but I love how it turned out. The bedding is from Pottery Barn baby.

 

 

 

These ruffled curtains are probably my favorite. I love how delicate they are, and how the light shines through them! They are also from PB baby.

 

 

 

 

This bird canvas was painted by my friend, Tracy. She is so talented, and sweet to create not only this piece, but a few others you will see in a minute. I had an idea of what I wanted, and she made it come to life! There is a bird to represent each family member!

 

 

 

 

 

 

This little hot pink ruffled outfit was the first thing I bought for Kennedy. I can't wait to see her in it!

Lastly, Tracy surprised me with this adorable "K" wreath to hang on the hospital door. It's perfect! 

 

 

 

 

I am officially done with Kennedy's nursery. We are ready and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our sweet girl!! Tomorrow is my LAST progesterone shot, and 36 week check up. I am interested to see what the doctor says and if any progress has been made!

 

 

Weekend Wrap Up

The weekend goes by way too fast! I actually took today off because I'm not feeling so well (nausea/contractions). Thankfully I have an amazing boss who wants me to take care of myself and baby.  So instead I'll be relaxing and spending some quality time with the hubs while little man is at school. 

Yesterday I needed to steam Kennedy's curtains and bedskirt. I decided to steam a few of her dresses while I was in there. I just about cried. It's so surreal. I'm having a little GIRL!!

Dwight coached in Frisco this weekend. During one game I ran to Ikea...never again! It was so big, overwhelming and I just wasn't so impressed. Pottery Barn has my heart. Ha! Anyway I ended up leaving with a candle and a vase so I didn't feel like the trip was a complete waste! ;) afterwards I hunted down a Tiff's Treats. Now that, that was amazing! 

Tiffwich, yes please!!

I let Tristan sit in K's crib for a minute yesterday. He thought it was SO funny. He is so excited for his baby sister to get here. He tells me "let her out tonight, mommy!" I'm trying son....!

Dwight came home with these yesterday. I sent him to kincaids to get us lunch, I haven't cooked in about a week. My poor fam. :/ They understand that momma is about to pop and it's hard for me to stand too long.

Lastly, Dwight and I took T to buy a pair of jeans yesterday. We went from one item to an entire spring/summer wardrobe. But it's checked off our list and little man is set for the season. We also same across these for little miss. I convinced Dwight that she NEEDED them. He agreed! ;)

Se isn't even here yet and I love having a girl!!

Since we are both home today, I plan on finishing her room (aka having Dwight hang the last of the wall decor). Stay tuned for pictures of it!

Pregnancy Highlights: 35 Weeks

How far along: 35 weeks and 2 days

Size of baby: I had my final 3d ultrasound yesterday and Kennedy measured FOUR weeks ahead of where we actually are with her weight. She is currently 7lbs!! Tristan weighed 6lbs 8oz at birth (he was born at 36 weeks) so I'm a little in shock. Ha! As far as her length, again she measures ahead but only by 2 weeks. Needless to say, we have a chunk on our hands! I'm totally okay with a chubby baby. :)

Gender: GIRL! K's pink, frilly, dainty, delicate nursery is 97% done. I will be sharing pictures very soon! I love walking in there and just looking at all the sweet girly things. Dwight told me the other day, "I went into Kennedy's room while you were gone and just looked at everything." Melt my heart He is going to be so sweet with this little girl. He has already told me "she can just sleep on my chest the first few weeks at night." Don't worry, she will be in a bassinet next to our bed! ;)

Maternity Clothes: Yes. I am so ready to get back into my old clothes...hopefully I can. Ha! I weigh 145 pounds at my last appointment putting my total weight gain at 38 pounds. Which is good, I need to keep at least 20 of those after I have her. Fingers crossed!

Movement: Kennedy has no more room in my womb, so I feel her EVERY move. K gets hiccups daily, multiple times a day...Little miss' movements are strong, and if she hits the right spot, painful. But even still, I love to feel her wiggle around.

Sleep: I am back to being tired all the time, but have a hard time staying asleep at night. I'm definitely in the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy!

Symptoms: Contractions are getting stronger and more frequent. Baby is super low and putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis which is not too comfortable. Back pain, check...hormonal, double check. I got upset at the Charter internet phone recording because it was not understanding what I was saying. The look on Dwight's face...priceless. Ha!

Cravings: chocolate, ice cream, Mexican food, steak

Best moment this week: I have two! First is getting K's crib painted (I wanted an antique look), and her room is almost completely put together. But the BEST moment was at my appointment yesterday. We have been keeping an eye on some fluid that was found on the left ventricle of K's brain a couple months ago. We went through blood testing, brain scans, and said lots of prayer that everything would heal. Our perinatologist is fabulous, I love her. She is always so encouraging and reassuring. Anyway, during the sonogram yesterday she looked at K's brain and said that there was no more fluid, that the left ventricle was completely normal, and that we had nothing to worry about. She also shared with me that she had just had a meeting with the NICU delivery team about all the upcoming births they would be in the delivery room for. My name was on that list, but she said (before knowing the results of my sonogram) that she told them she just had a feeling that our baby would be fine and they would not be needed. She said they just all stared at her like "yeah, okay..." I told her we had been praying for healing and her exact words were " your prayers were answered."

I cannot believe I am 5 days away from when I had Tristan. I definitely feel like it could be any day now. With my small frame, big babies, and preterm labor, my body seems to hit a max at about this point. So while I still have 5 weeks until my due date, I cannot imagine going another 2 weeks. I think she will be here end of next week (please don't make me eat my words, Lord), some people said this weekend...hopefully not! My doctor says "if you make it till next week..." I will be sure to keep everyone updated!

My 26th Birthday

 

 

 

 

Last night Dwight took me out to a delicious, romantic dinner to celebrate my 26th birthday (which is actually today). I told him this is probably our last real date night for a while...crazy to think about!

I think I was stopped by 10 different people telling me "it looks like you swallowed a basketball!" I suppose they are right. ;)

 

 

 

It was POURING rain before we left. Like flashflood rain. We almost cancelled, but I am so glad we didn't. On the way there we saw a double rainbow. What a sweet reminder of the promises of God!

 

 

 

Dwight surprised me with dinner at Texas de Brazil in downtown Fort Worth. Words cannot describe how good the food was, or how much I ate. Ha! Dwight and I had such a good time talking, laughing, and reflecting on life. I am so blessed by my sweet husband who is always surprising me, spoiling me, and making sure I know how much he loves me. It really was the best night (even though Dwight ate so much that I had to drive home)!

 

 

Before pregnancy, a kid's meal filled me up...however these days, I eat as much as my husband. After eating steak, rack of lamb, more steak, pork, chicken, fish, salad bar, garlic mashed potatoes, cheese, crackers, and more, I NEEDED dessert. Dwight's came with vanilla ice cream which he tried to tell the waitress he didn't want. I almost fell out of my chair, we DO NOT turn down ice cream, ever. ha! I had her put it with my dessert...the most amazing cheesecake ever.

 

 

Such an amazing night with my main squeeze. I cannot wait to see what year 26 holds!

 

 

The last 4 days we have worked hard on the nursery! My mom did the most amazing job painting the tree mural, I got the curtains hung, the last of the wall décor bought (still needs to be hung), and all of her clothes washed, organized and put away. The only thing we have left to do is put up the crib, and find an accent rug. I cannot wait to show you all the final pictures of it!! For now I'll leave you with a sneak peak. I'm hoping to have it completed by the end of this upcoming week.

Randomness

I  am 34 weeks pregnant tomorrow! I only have two more weeks of getting progesterone my shot then they stop and let my body do whatever it wants! 

With that being said, I've been in major nesting mode trying to get prepared. I took Thursday and Friday off to enjoy some family time and finalize all things Kennedy!

Speaking of K, I think she is good on clothes! ;) sadly, this is only 0-3 months the rest is in her drawers or packed away to be worn 3-6 and 9 months down the road. It's funny how much more she has than T did at this point. Girl clothes are addicting, and we have had some sweet friends give us SO much.

A couple weekends ago Bri and I enjoyed a little girls only lunch! 

I found big brother like this the other day. Hm....! We had to have a talk about "baby and big boy" stuff. Ha!

I finished up Tristan's room last weekend. It's officially all unpacked and decorated. Now I can fully concentrate on K's room!

Mimi is coming over tomorrow to finish up the tree mural in the nursery, and my best friend, Jill is coming over to celebrate our 26th birthdays which are on the 15th and 16th! Friday, Dwight and I are taking the kids on a family outing, and this weekend we have more birthday fun planned as well as finishing the nursery. We are definitely down to crunch time!! I love spring break!! 

My boy is growing up!

 

Tristan had his preschool spring performance last week. There is nothing that I love more than hearing my son sing/talk about Jesus. It was just precious! Before we left for his show we snapped a few pics on my Iphone...which is why they are blurry. :/

 

 

 

 

Of course Mimi joined us, and Poppy rushed from work in Dallas to be at Tristan's school. Such good grandparents!

Before the show was open house. It amazes me how much they learn, not only academically, but biblically which is very important to us. I want Tristan to not only grow intellectually, but spiritually as well. I sure am going to miss his school next year, but I know he will excel in and LOVE kindergarten.

This craft cracked me up because it says what T loves about each of his family members...he says he loves "when mommy cooks". Bless his heart, it is not often and definitely not that good when I do. But I'm glad he likes it! ;)

T has been learning about money; what each coin/bill is worth, who is on it, etc. He has a basketball piggy bank and has been saving money since Christmas. We need to count it soon because I know he has a good amount! He also has a bank at my mom's, they cashed it in not long ago and he had $30 in coins that he got to spend at the store on a new toy. I think he is going to be like his daddy and business oriented. :)

 

 

 

The other thing they have been learning about is United States Presidents and facts about our country. He can tell you just about anything you need to know about the U.S.!

 

 

 

After his performance we went back to my parents house for dinner and dessert. Of course Mimi had a present waiting for him since it was his last preschool performance...that's a big deal! Little man got a new Dr. Seuss book and a matching stuffed animal. He loved it!

 

It has been so rewarding as a mother to see my shy little boy, blossom into a confident little child. Tristan is so sweet natured, loves to learn, always wants to help people, and according to his teachers...a positive role model. I am SO proud of him, and I cannot wait to see him continue to grow!
