SUNSHINE

Krystle and I decided that since our husbands were going to be out of town all weekend for work, we would have a slumber party Saturday night with us and the kids! It was so much fun!! Things got a little rough around dinner/bath/bed time but we just laughed because this is the season in life we are in, and it's comforting to know you are not alone in it! I always say that 6pm is the roughest time of day in my house. The kids are hungry, dirty, and sleepy. 7:30pm usually can't come fast enough!

After we put the kids to bed (which was no easy task), we sat in the living room and talked. Krys is one of those friends who I have lived a lot of life with. I have literally grown up with her in many respects. We met as 19 year old naive college freshmen, and have grown into 27 year old women who have families. It is such a sweet transition in life. In college we use to give each other massages almost every night. We were SO serious about it. I'm talking dimmed lights, classical music playing...we even timed each massage to make sure each person was getting a fair amount of time. Ha!! It was only fitting that we did the same last night. Except this time we could light a candle because we weren't in a dorm room. Ha! ;) 

Krystle's step-dad invited us over to his house for homemade breakfast and swimming this morning, so as soon as the babies woke up, we got ready and loaded up! Her dad use to have us over in college and he put up with a lot from us. ;) It was pure bliss to have him and his wife cook an amazing spread of food, entertain the babies, and welcome us into their beautiful home. They made us promise we would be back...of course we said we would be! He even told us he would make an extra key to the house so we could come over during the summer with the kids and swim while they are at work. SOLD! Love them!!

*Funny side story, I ran into Tim (her dad) at the Make a Wish Gala in Dallas a few weekends ago. I heard a voice that I knew coming from the table behind me. I turned around and saw Tim and his wife, Lori. I told Tim I could spot his voice out of a crowd of a couple thousand! He is one of the sweetest people you will meet and LOVES us like his own.*

Friday Fun

Ken and I spent the morning with our bffs. 

I love the fact that my best friend has a daughter so close to Kennedy's age. There is noting more precious than genuine friendships! The girls are the funniest/spunkiest/most dramatic/chunky delights you've ever seen. :)

Ty will be SO excited when Tristan can join us this summer!

Hey, cutie pie!

Friday afternoon, I picked the kids up from school and dropped T and Ken off at my parents. Tristan got to have a sleepover and Kennedy got to stay and play a while so I could go love on sweet baby Brayden! How precious is he?!? I loved getting to chat with his mama, Kari, one last time before they move to college station. I will so miss her!

By 5:30pm, Ken had ripped her headband off, put on the shades, and was one wild woman! ;) I had to run a few errands, Target being one of them. That is my happy place. Since T was at my parents, Dwight was in Dallas for an all weekend tournament, and Amari was with his mom...I had a relaxing, no cooking/cleaning/lifting a finger kind of a night planned for myself! 

Takeout from one of my favorite restaurants, cookies, a coke literally with my name on it. Ha! I caught up on some DVR recordings and laid on the couch till Dwight got home. Ahhhhhh bliss! 

Getting ready for summer!

Summer is quickly approaching, and we are eagerly awaiting. 

As much as I love the structure and routine that the school year brings, I am always ready for the ease and flexibility that is summer time! Kennedy is going to love having her siblings around to play with during the day, too!

Ken LOVES to read. And that makes me happy. She will get a book and then sit in my lap for me to read it to her. She is such a sweet girl!!

Sweet Lo is doing AMAZING after her spinal surgery just a few weeks ago. She truly is a fighter!!

Weekly work outs continue and get harder. I love them though!

Silly boys celebrating their last full week of school. We have so much fun planned this summer, I can't wait!

The sweetest gift from Tristan's class for volunteering with them this year. I will keep this forever!

Super proud of this big boy! I received his CPAA test scores back from his teacher and he did AWESOME! I can't wait to see the things he does with his precious life. Love him!!

Field Day

Last Friday the boys had field day at school. Due to the NON STOP rain, they had to move the activities in doors. Even still, the kids had so much fun! I cannot believe the school year is 4 and a half days from being over. This year has flown by!!

I bounced back and forth between Tristan and Amari's classes. Dwight was volunteering at one of the stations so I tried my best to cheer on each boy. :)

Tristan is very serious at school and does not like for me to make a spectacle...or talk to him much. Ha! Amari loves the extra attention and usually yells out, "TIFFY!" as he waves vigorously at me. I love their total opposite personalities! They both took the games very seriously, it is in their blood (thanks to Dwight) to be competitive. 

Ken enjoyed watching her big brothers. She wanted to get down so badly and join them!

We signed the boys out of school early, after field day ended, and took them to lunch at Cousin's...my favorite BBQ place! Such a fun day with our big boys!

Memorial Day at the Fort Worth Zoo

Memorial Day was spent enjoying a lot of family time with my people.

I woke up early and made red (ish) and blue pancakes in honor of the holiday. The kids played with daddy while I prepped everything. After eating we got ready and drove out to downtown Fort Worth. The weather has been AWFUL with a tremendous amount of rain and flooding. A storm was suppose to come in so we debated between the zoo and the children's museum. I'm glad we chanced the zoo! It was the perfect day. Not too hot, or crowded. The kids had the best time!

Kennedy wanted to walk EVERYWHERE. She is not totally stable yet so it took her awhile. She went back and forth between her stroller and holding our hands. Love this girl!!

Ken is such a daddy's girl. I mean she has him wrapped around her fingers. He literally cannot say no to this girl!

Brianna and Tristan really enjoyed looking at each animal and reading all about them. They both have a love for learning which makes this mama super proud!

Fort Worth Zoo is my absolute favorite zoo, sorry Dallas! ;) 

I think we walked every square inch of it. So much to see and do!

It truly was the best day! I love making memories like this with my family. However, we realize that the reason we can have such freedoms is because brave men and women fought for them. We remember!
