Sunday Funday

Giggles, silly faces, conversation, ice cream, singing and dancing...everything Tristan and I enjoyed on our afternoon date! T leaves today on a mini vacation with my parents, so I wanted some one-on-one time with my boy. It was a fun time. Love him so!

After driving through DQ, I pulled over and let him climb in the front seat to eat. We listened to Taylor Swift, made a few music videos and goofed off. He thought it was the best, so did I! 

He even held my hand. Heart melted. 

Dwight took the boys with him and his team to do Cryo (the freezing cold chambers) in Southlake, while Ken and I grocery shopped. Since they are so young, they did not go into the chambers, but they loved eating and hanging out with the guys after. Ken loved digging through all the food and opening half the stuff before I made it home. Piggy!

Somehow it's Monday... we have a full week ahead of us! It starts off with waiting for the garage door repair man. I locked myself and the kids out of the house for two hours in the dead of heat on Saturday because of the it being broken. It wasn't my best moment in life, but we survived. ;) when you live in Trxas and its 100 plus degrees outside, you NEED your garage to park in!

The boys were asked to participate in a short clip/commercial for one of my favorite Christian ministries, Marriage Today! They thought it was the absolute best thing to have a fake mom/dad/sister. I on the other hand became aware of the fact that I'm not cut out to be a stage mom. Holy stress! The did some of the taping at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens and at a beautiful home in Grapevine. Such a fun (but stressful) time! They kept asking if they are famous now. I reassured them life was not changing in anyway!! 

Having a "family" picnic. This was their favorite scene because they got to play tag, do sparklers, and run around like crazy. They are GREAT at that! 

I think the boys will remember this for years to come. So will I...as the night I kept Kennedy out till 11pm, realized two of my kids had pink eye, and nearly lost my marbles in the process. Motherhood at its finest! ;)

Flash forward to today, Kennedy loves to "write"! She even holds the pen correctly. I'm pretty sure she was destroying a hospital bill. I feel the same way, Ken. Ha!

We have the busiest weekend! The bid have a ball tournament they are playing in, we have birthday parties, and I have some "house keeping" things to tend to. I can't believe July is almost upon us. So long, June! 

Work out Wednesday!

Kennedy and I go to a "mommy and me" workout group every Monday/Wednesday! It's been such a good experience and we have met lots of sweet mamas and babies. My friend, Krystle is the leader and she made us SWEAT today. The Texas sun didn't help either...even though we started at 9am. HOT!!!

The boys have been at VBS each morning and come home exhausted. They took a FOUR hour nap today, along with Kennedy, so I know they had lots of fun!! Amari's mom asked for T to stay the night and picked them up for dinner and movie this evening. So, Ken and I have relaxed and played together! Girl time. :)

Road trip to Houston

Early Friday morning, the Coleman Crew was up, packed, and ready for a fun weekend trip to Houston. Coming from Dallas, it should have taken 4...5 hours max. But, add in a baby, 3 kids under age 8, and you've got yourself a 7 hour trip. 

Dwight started his own company just four short months ago, and it has grown and been so incredibly blessed by The Lord. As his wife, nothing makes me happier than to see him succeed at what he loves to do! His focus is on skills training and coaching elite basketball select teams. This weekend all of his teams played in a tournament in Houston, so we decided to take the kids and make it into a family trip. I was very hesitant to do so, mainly because of the baby, but I am SO glad I ended up agreeing. The kids had the best time, the teams did great, and Dwight and I had fun, too!

We left our home at 9:30 am, however, we didn't leave the city that we live in until about 11am. One stop at Sprouts for a few necessities and snacks, Dwight needed a few things from Academy, and mommy needed dr pepper from sonic. Then we were off...for about 1 hour before we stopped again. Ha!

The big kids watched movies, ate snacks, giggled, we all played fun games like, I Spy and Categories...and Kennedy cried, and cried, and cried...and cried. So unlike her because she usually doesn't mind the car! Thankfully she took a couple of naps but since she is still rear facing, she couldn't see the tv. I got desperate and turned her forward facing to see if that would help, and it didn't. So we pulled back over and turned her back around. I have a passion for carseat safety, and after much research I know how much safer it is for any child 2 and under to be rear facing, no matter how big/long they are. It's better to break your legs (which could happen rear facing), than to have a broken neck, spinal injuries or worse (which could happen forward facing due to the head weight to body ratio in toddlers). If your a parent with a child in a carseat/booster I encourage you to do your own research and make sure your little one is buckled properly (chest clip should be at armpit level NOT on the belly...I see that so much in pictures on FB/insta and it pains me!) and make sure you know all the facts. Okay, soapbox is over. Ha!

Needless to say, we endured some crying but everyone survived! :)

All of the teams stayed in the same hotel. The kids loved playing with the players and siblings. It was a great group of people that joined us!

Kennedy cracked us up. This girl LOVED everything about this trip, once we got there! She also slept like a champ!! I brought one of our box fans, several of her blankies, and used the room's blackout curtains and she took killer naps and slept like a champ at night. Go, Ken!!

It was time to go home on Sunday evening. We made a few pit stops and had fun doing so! ;)

Monday, it was back to the real world...until our next little trip.

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy in the world! 

Dwight, your love for our children amazes me daily. You have such a sweet, tender heart and connect with them on so many levels. You are funny, active, playful, silly, compassionate, a leader, and a companion to them. You have a fun side that the kids adore, but you also teach our children things that only you can. They look up to you so much! I love that you put our marriage as a top priority, allowing us to be the best parents. I love how excited you get when you see Kennedy each morning when she wakes up, how proud you are of the boys for playing basketball, going to kindergarten, and doing so many big boy things! Your heart for Brianna is priceless and something I know she will value as she grows. You truly are the best father our children could have. Being your wife, and the mother of your children is my greatest blessing in this life. I love you and am thankful for all you do for us! Happy Father's Day, babe!
