Weekend Wrap Up!

Wow, what a ridiculousy smooth weekend I had...given that I had TWO babies!! Friday after touring schools Tristan and I went to Grace's house and spent the day relaxing, playing and napping (well, they did!) I watch Grace every Monday and I've babysat other kids with Tristan before but never over night, for 2 days.

She loves that lady bug!

Eating a snack; nothing new. :)

How cute is she??!

Saturday morning we got up, cleaned a bit, played some more...ate a TON, Laurie bought so much food; I think she's trying to help fatten me up! :) I had Jill's bachelorette party that night so my little sister, Melody came over and kept Miss Grace and I took Tristan back to my parents where my sister Ashley and mom tended to...spoiled him! We went to a delicious Hibachi place in Southlake then back to Jill's mom house for cake and to open lingere presents! We had SO much fun, it was a much needed girls night out!! Just 2 more weeks until the wedding, I can't believe it. Tman stayed the night away from me, only the 2nd time since he's been born (told you he's a mamma's boy!) and I went back to stay with Grace and Mel.

I love her room.

Sweet baby and such a good sleeper!

Eating breakfast!

Kristy came by to say hi while she was in town!

The cake I ordered for Jill, I designed it myself, it turned out great!! (her new last name will be Eager)

On our way to dinner!

We HAD to get a fab 4 picture! These girls have been my best friends since I was in the 7th grade.

The whole group!

Jill cooking...kinda :)

We all showed up in white coats, great minds think alike!

Jill opening up the present I got her! It's hard to tell but it's pink and lacey.

Today Grace and I got up, got ready for church and went by to pick Tristan and Ashley up. There was no way I could've taken two babies in, alone! The babes had a great time and got to go in the same class, Grace normally goes to Northwood. After church we went to lunch at my grandparents! Laurie will be here in about an hour to get her . What a good weekend we had, but I am a bit warn out! They were both excellent and played great together but still they're babies. :) Tristan is going to have to be at least 3 before he gets a siblings...well that and I'll need a great husband! ha

Ready for church! I had so much fun dressing a girl!!

I had to get a pic of their classroom. Gateway decorates each class SO cute and this is the little door that Tristan walks through every Sunday for class. His room is the "On Fire for Jesus" room; it's painted red and has a firefighter/dalmation theme.

Welcome to the City of Grapevine "Little Texan"!

It may be 17 months late but I FINALLY got Tristan's birth certificate!! I must admit I only got it because he needs it in order to start Preschool next month. ha! The lady assured me that it's never too late and it's smarter to wait and buy it when you actually need it otherwise you may forget where you put it. However, I am very organized and it is already at "home" with all of mine and Tristan important medical records I have in a filing box.

After school today I came home picked up my little man , took him to lunch at Boston Market ( I was craving their mac and cheese!!) Then we headed to Southlake to return the disgusting protein weight gaining mix I bought; I couldn't stomach it anymore...I'm going back to eating everything in sight, drinking 1 milk shake a day and muscle toning three times a week with my friend from DBU. Since T-boy was born at Baylor Hospital of Grapevine we had to go to Grapevine city hall and picked up the b.c., it is so cute he got a "welcome note" from the city. Tristan insisted on walking around so of course I took the opportunity to take pictures!

Still not feeling all that good...(he's been sick AGAIN for the 3rd time this month, the past 3 days)

Much happier now that he has his cornbread and mommy let him have a Sprite (what am I turning into??)

outside city hall!

We made 2 more stops, one at Nordstroms to attempt to find me some jeans; not easy finding a size 0-2 that fits my 5'9 frame. :/ We ended up at Franchescas (one of my fav stores!!) and found some Miss Me Jeans, they fit like a glove and are a-dorable. It's so easy for me to shop for Tristan but when it comes to me I always go back and forth on whether or not I really "NEED" whatever it is, but I decided it's time to get a pair of pants that don't fall off me anymore. Then eventually get to a size that I can fit into the other 8 pair of jeans that are just hanging in my closet and have been since I had Tristan. I need to gain atleast 10lbs before I can wear them again. SO frustrating but I'll get there!! I weighed 103 two months ago and was up to 110 last week! Progress. Hopefully by summertime I'll be back to 125, I never thought after having a baby I would be trying to GAIN weight. lol I guess it could be worse. ;)

Monday on our way to the dr. poor guy had a 103 temp and had to get blood testing and an xray of his chest. Everything came back clear just another viral infection, can't wait for SPRING!

You can see in his eyes that he was super ill.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us. I tour Tristan's preschool tomorrow and meet with his principle!! How cute is that? It's a very nice school in Keller, we'll walk around see the different classes, they will observe TK and see what developmental level he is at and place in him in a class. It's only 2 days a week but I know he will LOVE it and I am so thankful he'll be learning not just "entertained". Then Saturday is Jill's bachelorette party. AND I'm watching Grace from tomorrow at 12pm until Sunday afternoon while her parents go out of town. I'm about to experience life as a single mother of 2! ha ha Say a prayer for me. :)

Tristan's Tricks!

After church!

At Pei Wei ready to eat!!

After lunch we went to see Faith. Here Tristan is pushing her in the babydoll stroller. Ha!

Ready for night, night!

His latest tricks consists of:

  • Saying " What are you doing??", " Uh oh!!", " I love you", "Nooo!", "Oh yaaa!!" "MOM!" (that is his favorite)

  • Tristan loves and I mean LOVES to dance. He spins in circles, claps his hands; waves them in the air and marches...all at the same time! ha ha he usually ends up on the floor after but he gets right back up for round two. It's so funny; his favorite song that we sing multiple times a day is "If you're happy and you know it". :)

  • He is tall enough now to reach on the counter to put his cup/pacy up there or to get something down that he wants; meaning we have to be VERY careful what we leave around!

  • He loves to open and close doors; yesterday he locked himself in my mom's room. All I could hear was knocking from the inside...oh bubs!

  • He can get on and off the couch and my bed all by himself.

  • He puts hand sanitizer on his own hands ( my favorite!!)

  • He tries to help me fix his hair.

  • Brushes his own teeth...well chews on the tooth brush and moves it around to mimic me.

He is growing up right before my eyes! Today at church I was dropping him off in his class and the lady behind me was holding her little boy. She tapped me politely and asked "Is this the right class for him (Tristan)?" I said "yes he is just big for his age." She laughed and said "oh okay, just checking!" I can't tell you how many times a day I get asked how old he is then I get the most puzzled look when I say 17 months old. People usually think he's at least 2 if not 2 1/2. I have a BIG boy, its in his genes and will probably never change!! :)

Weekend Wrap Up!

Friday morning TK thew up; this is the THIRD time he has gotten sick in 6 weeks, so about every 2 weeks something comes up and it's always his stomach. After he got sick 3 times he was perfectly fine; no fever, he was laughing and running around. I called his pediatrician and asked if T might have a food allergy, he agreed that it could possibly be an allergy to dairy and since Tristan eats yo-baby yogurt at least 3 times a day that wouldn't be a strech. Actually, that is what he had right before he threw up. They asked me to take him off dairy for a week and bring him in for a GI-track test. I am praying and confessing Jesus' total healing over Tristan and that no allergy be found. Life with out chocolate milk, ice cream, yogurt and such is not one I want for my little man!! :) He was at Grace's house (his little friend) when he got sick because I was having a TB test done for my internship. This is the 2nd time he has gotten sick over there in 4 weeks and her mom, Laurie is always so sweet; washes Tristan's clothes and assures me she doesn't mind taking care of him until I can get there. When I got there he was in a hot pink fleece outfit because he made a mess of what he had on. I couldn't help but laugh as my son ran to me in a pink "get up" I should have taken a picture! Since I knew TK wasn't contagious we went to a group playdate later that afternoon and he was fine. As soon as he got the yogurt out of his system he was right back to normal.

Saturday we went to Denton to have dinner with one of my bestfriends, Jill at Babes. I ate enough for 2 people. Which by the way, I have gained THREE lbs in 2 weeks. I am on my protein weight gaining shake and seeing some good results, just 15 more lbs to go! Anyway...we ate dinner, then went to see Jill and her fiance's soon to be new house. It was a-dorable!! I tried on my bridesmaid dress for the 3rd time. It was way too big before so her mom took it in and now its a little snug...hopefully I can make it 5 weeks with out putting on too much weight to get in that little red dress! After that we went to target to look for a spiral curling-iron so that we can both use it to do our hair for the wedding. Somehow BOTH of us forgot why we were there and ended up walking out with a swim suit and dress socks for Tristan plus some Gerber treats that he had a meltdown for. TK is the sweetest baby but boy can he throw a fit! It really is rare but when it happens, watch out!! I drove all the way back to Fort Worth before realizing we didnt get the curling iron. I called Jill and we had a good laugh. I told her welcome to an early dose of motherhood! I wonder how many things I have started and forgotten these past 17 months plus the 9 months of "pregnancy brain"???!!

Before seeing aunt Jill we had a quick lunch/shopping date together!

Mommy was nice and let him get his very own lemonade!

Jill works at Babes so after her shift we met her up there and chowed down!

At Jill's house!

I have never seen my son so happy and entertained as he was in this empty house, he loved stomping on the hardwood floor.

Tristan has been sleeping wonderfully lately and I LOVE it. Last night he went to bed at 8pm and slept in until 10am this morning. I woke up at 9:30am, a treat to say the least and enjoyed 30 minutes of peace! I think he is going through a growth spurt...which if he is going to get to 6'9 he better start early!

HAPPY 17 Months!

2 years ago today I found out I was having a baby. Today, February 18th 2010, that precious baby of mine is 17 months old. How faithful our sweet Jesus has been to us and oh, how amazing the journey He has taken us on. At the time, I thought my life was over; little did I know it had JUST begun! I love you Tristan Kye!!

Such A Stud!

So, I don't know if anyone noticed in the past post that Tristan had some bald spots. That's because I thought I could cut his hair. Poor guy, I have promised him that I will NEVER attempt to do that again!! ha ha Needless to say, Tristan was due for a professional hair cut; Brenetta, our family friend/ hairstylist made a house call and gave T-boy the cutest do ever!! Tristan was NOT a fan of it, at all but he looks like quite the STUD MUFFIN. I definitely love his hair short and will be keeping it this way for a while! Also, below is a pic of the suit my little man will be sporting for Easter and Jill's wedding!

Freshly cut!

Side view :)

I found TK sound asleep like this, I helped him to his pillow!

Before Tristan's hair cut, Grace comes over Mondays to play and clearly they have a good time. Ha!

Sweet babies!!

HOW cute will he look in this?? I still have to get his black dress socks and shoes...I may cry!

Tristan's Valentines Day Party

Happy Valentine's Day! We have had such a nice, relaxing day; full of celebrating and chocolate! First thing this morning Tristan woke up and opened up his V-day gift bag from me, my mom, and sister Ashley. He got a new shirt, some pacies (like he needs anymore!) The softest monkey security blanket ever (since I have managed to lose 3 others) and a new Thomas the train toy. He loved them all!! I think he finally understands when he is getting something special. :)

One of the cakes Tristan and I made!

The second! :)

Tristan in heaven eating a piece of cake.

Can you believe I let my baby suck right out of the icing bag?!!

After presents we got ready for church and heard a great message! We are in a series called One Thing and our pastor has invited members of Gateway who are well known, in this case all athletes to give their testimonies. This week was Josh Hamilton and his wife Katie of the Texas Rangers and next week is Jason Witten!

A Thomas toy!!

I think he's got the hang of it!

His presents!

Ready for church!

We went home to the best surprise ever. My mom and dad stayed home from church and prepared a delicious lunch for us; lasgna, french bread and tons of sweet treats like chocolate covered strawberries and cake! My mother themed her little party as if Tristan threw it. She decorated the table beautifully and hand made a table-mat for each person with a picture, what their name means and other special stuff on it. She is such a Martha Stewart! Oh ya and on each place-mat was a present "from Tristan" after all, he is the one who organized the party. Ha! My grandparents came over and joined us and it was a fun time.

Our beautiful table spread!

My place mat, I think I have the best mom ever. <3

Talk about flashback!! :)

Tristan's favorite, the strawberries!

I totally broke my "eating rules" with Tristan and let him have a piece of cake and a chocolate covered strawberry needless to say, he was in heaven!! I have never seen that boy SO happy and SO quiet, minus an occasional squeel of glee. ha ha He made more of a mess than he did at his 1st birthday party.

Yummy!!

What a mess!
